I booked a two-bedroom pool villa for three nights. I don't usually write reviews, but for the benefit of my fellow travelers, I'd like to share some information to help with their decision-making!
1. **Location:** The hotel is well-situated, very close to the center, making it convenient to walk to popular attractions like the palace.
2. **Design:** The hotel's design is good, with a modern, minimalist style that looks exactly like the promotional pictures.
3. **Breakfast:** The breakfast is probably the highlight; the Indonesian fried rice is delicious, and the restaurant staff are very friendly.
4. **Front Desk Service:** The front desk staff are generally okay and responsive. However, a couple of the female staff members were less effective at problem-solving and seemed a bit formal, which came across as less friendly.
5. **Room Comfort:** The bedding felt a bit damp, and there's no central air conditioning.
Here's the main point: As expected, you'll encounter geckos, squirrels, large ants, big flies, small frogs, and wild cats... What was surprising was *not* seeing any monkeys, especially since the Monkey Forest is right next door. Ultimately, I saw a large rat jump off the coffee table in the open-plan living area on the first floor. I immediately negotiated with the hotel and checked out early.
If you enjoy a rustic luxury style and love small animals – and can tolerate the possibility of rats – then this hotel might be suitable for you.
**BTW:** The hotel doesn't provide pool floats. If you have kids who want to swim, you might want to prepare some in advance or order them for delivery via Grab.
