Paus Putih Hotel

Absolute gem of a place, tiny resort (15 bungalows), we had no 8 overlooking the sea which was just beautiful. The host Johanes was truly wonderful as were the team-nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Johanes!! We were surprised on arrival we couldn’t get a cold G&t after a long hot commute- the bar sells lovely juices, smoothies and local beer- snd the food is fresh and delicious. The rooms and resort were spotlessly clean. The resort is not accessible from the beach (the sea below comes right to the walk) and it’s 15 mins walk through Forrest and village the get to mushroom bay which is lush however the welcome, ambiance and vista made it all well worthwhile

We had a magical stay at the Paus Putih which is situated just up from the Mushroom Beach end of Nusa Lembongan. Our villa was perfectly clean and inviting with a large comfortable bed and plenty of space. While there was no mini fridge and the room was quite basic, the air conditioner was highly effective and everything you need can be sourced from the very helpful hotel staff. There are beautiful tropical gardens and an array of lounges to relax upon. If the pool isn’t your thing, you can go for a dip in the ocean which is accessible directly from the property or read a book under the restaurant pergola and take in the perfect view of the volcano. Our host Johannes and his team were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They helped source transport and made our restaurant bookings. Johannes kindly made arrangements for my husband to take a fishing trip and even had his team cook up his catch for our lunch. Our booking included breakfast daily which was made to order and always delicious. With a selection of local and western options on the menu, my kids loved ordering lunch and snacks from the restaurant whenever they were peckish. The Paus Putih is within walking distance to Mushroom Beach, local warungs, restaurants and very many massage places, yet it is very private and quiet. For ease I recommend hiring a scooter for your stay which Johannes can help you with. Paus Putih is the perfect place to relax and unwind while also taking in some of the best tropical views and experiences Indonesia has to offer. I highly recommend the Paus Putih.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and loved it. The decoration is very simple but beautiful, the surroundings are super quiet, it has a lounge and pool with a sea view and the staff was always available and kind. The only tiny thing I didn't like was the slightly remote location. If you don't go by taxi or rent a scooter you will have to walk a 15min bumpy road through the jungle, which at night, with no lights, can be tricky to know exactly where you are going.

Lovely and property is nice and quiet. The staff are very helpful. The sales person Ririn was helpful to assist with my ferry booking. On my day of departure, the ferry company forgot to fetch us. The staff got us on their motorbikes with luggage sandwiched between the rider and the pillion, we hurried to the ferry point. Thankfully, we did not miss the ferry. A word of caution to reconfirm with the ferry company should you book a return transfer from jetty to hotel. Kudos to Paus Putih Staff!

We enjoyed a great 5 nights at this little gem of a resort. The rooms are super clean and simple. FYI - no bar fridge or TV, but there's a small fridge behind the bar that guests can use. Air con works great! We had a small mix up with our room request at the beginning, but was able to sort it out and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Johannes and his staff are fantastic. Always willing to book restaurants for us and organise transport. We don't ride scooters so relied heavily on restaurants that offer free pickup. Was a little disappointed that the only alcohol on offer was beer, but we got to enjoy our duty free purchases. Food in the restaurant was simple but beautifully prepared. This is such a lovely little resort and if you are looking for peace & quiet with amazing views of Mt Agung, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended.

Immediately after I arrived, I had the pleasant feeling that I had made the right choice of hotel. I had room #8 facing the water but mainly the incredible view of Mt Agung. Those little white houses, superbly and simply decorated reminds me of the Bahamas or even the coast of New England. The service is flawless with the warm smiles of the balinese. I had to extend my stay. The very pleasant and clean Mushroom beach is 15 minutes away. 5 minutes in motorbike. Great find.
