Lovely old style hotel great for the price right on the beach, clean rooms older style furniture and gardens not 5 star but I like the old Bali style rooms, cleaned everyday. Pools x3 clean and inviting. Staff are amazing great restaurants on Main Street and beach (little walk) hubby and I have enjoyed the atmosphere and hotel at this little gem. If you want 5 star and are use to 5 star this gem may not be for you. They run solar hot water, give you a large water tank to refill glass bottles everyday, prefer no plastic bags but do supply you with a great shopping bag they are trying to do right by the environment. We have had a lovely stay here

Love this place, it's in an older Balinese style which is charming. Very clean, comfortable, and luxurious without the huge price tag. Staff super friendly & helpful. We had a family Bungalow for the three teenagers & Superior Bungalow for adults, both spacious and comfortable. The grounds are lovely. They're going for eco-friendly so trying to reduce plastic, using solar, etc. The restaurant menu is simple but tasty, and there's a la carte breakfast rather than buffet style. I would prefer a larger drinks menu, but honestly that's the only thing I'd change.

Stayed here for a week. Perfect location! Quiet and in a great location on the beach. Some tourists were a little noisy at night but staff dealt with them. There are three pools. A little bit dated but most people seem swim at the beach right out the front of the hotel. One pool is quite small and seems to be for kids but the bigger pool out the front of the hotel is deeper, cold and usually quiet. The rooms were large and had contained everything that you would need. I am going to stay here again :)

We had a 2 x bedroom room and it was spacious, huge bathroom. The bathroom had an enourmous window with topical plants and giant snails on the outside. It was like having an amazing terrairium to watch. I was pleased with the room, gardens and pool area. Location is great. Staff were lovely. New pool furniture around the pool and on the beach would greatly improve as these were the only things we thought really lacking. For the price I would definetly come back.

This is not a 5 star resort, do not go expecting a 5 star resort! However, this hotel was clean, the room was serviced beautifully every day, the AC was cold and we never had an issue with the hot water system. As other reviews have said, the shower does need to run for a bit of time on hot to get warm, but once the water is running hot, it’s a lovely warm shower. The staff were friendly, location was fantastic with plenty to see and do both street side and beach side, and I loved the hotels ecological philosophy. We had a large water dispenser that was replaced as needed and glass water bottles to refill from the dispenser to store in our fridge. We had brought our own reusable shopping bags from home but the hotel does supply them if required. Three pools to choose from, but our kids favourite was the family pool up by reception. We could always grab one or two pool chairs at that pool. Sure, they could do with an upgrade, but once you pop your towel on the lounger, it make no difference. We are a family of 5 and booked a family room with an extra bed which was accommodated by the hotel. It was a bit cozy in the kids room with 3 beds, but we have no complaints. We simply used the room for sleep and bathroom needs. It was a fantastic holiday and we will love to return one day.

This hotel is very old and highly due for a revamp. We had a two-bedroom 'villa' for ten nights. POSITIVES - The gardens are lush; the children have their own pools so most of the time the bigger pool was just for the adults (when you holiday with no children this is a positive); the beds, although old, were quite comfortable and we got a clean bottom sheet every day and we got clean towels everyday. Reasonably priced for location. NEGATIVES - The rooms are very old and quite dusty and dirty. Doona covers had holes and were worn out. The 'outdoor' shower was dirty and you could see mould on the door frames and ceiling and the Hot Water System was the most annoying as it kept going on and off, and while having a shower you got more pressure when it went on for 5 seconds and then it went off and the water pressure dropped right down. Even after using the shower (or the tap or flush the toilet) it continued to go on and off for ages and when you sit on the verandah it was noisy. The safe and only place to hang clothes, was in the bathroom attached to the 'outside' shower. So you had to remember to lock the shower door and the toilet door before going out. It was not fixed properly to the shelf and was so temperamental we had to call them several times to open it for us. Their website claimed to have Room Service but there were no menus in the room and even when we tried to contact the front desk via the room phone they hardly ever answered. Half the time 2 or 3 of the TV channels didn't work (one kept coming up saying the 'Card is out of date' and they were normally the only English channels we had. Even though they had a type of couch in the first bedroom which had the two single beds, it was placed under the TV, so you could only sit on the beds to watch TV. For us it didn't matter, but the first room you went into was the room with the two single beds and the TV and the kettle and fridge, so you had to go through this room to go the 'main' bedroom and also to the bathroom, so I would imagine this would be annoying for parents with children. They did not have any mosquito room spray. The restaurant is in a prime location, right on the beach, but is so sad looking and the entrance from the beach is unkept so nobody comes in. We did have an okay breakfast there a couple of mornings but where the only ones there. The verandah could use a fan as it was enclosed on 3 sides. When we sat out there, which we did a lot, we kept the door to the villa open and the air con going flat out. We had to ask them to mop the verandah floor properly as it was filthy. The pool furniture was terrible. They only appeared to have two adjustable day beds, all the rest were one piece. All the cushions were old and dirty and splitting and if you tried to lay on them they just slid right down. All in all we were very disappointed with this hotel and would definitely not go back or recommend it to any one else. This hotel is sandwiched in between two very high e

We found this hotel to be in a great spot right on the beach. But it was quite a run down hotel and our room was not very clean. The pool near reception has algae on the steps and one of the unbrellas was covered in mould. The gardens are lovely and it looks a bit cleaner up the front towards the beach. We witnessed a lady checking out due to her room not clean. This could be such a lovely hotel with a but of tlc and maintenance. I'm posting this hoping the hotel can make it better.

My husband and I are staying at the Peneeda at the moment in a private Villa (number 103). We love it and can’t fault it. It is an older property but the rooms are very spacious and decorated in the old Bali style. Our Villa has been cleaned beautifully with fresh bed linen and towels daily. Bathroom is huge with a massive walk in shower room ( it just takes a while for the hot water to come through but great temperature when it does). The grounds are beautiful and the 3 pools are clean and a pleasure to swim in, some days we’ve had a pool to ourselves, other days maybe 1 or 2 other couples, but always pretty quiet and plenty of room. The Sun loungers could probably do with a clean or replacing but totally useable. Location is perfect and we love being able to go straight onto the boardwalk and beachfront. We call it ‘our oasis of calm’ as it is so peaceful and tranquil and would highly recommend.

What an amazing location! The layout of the rooms for a family was great, the staff were so helpful and the gardens were lovely. Everything was very clean. As others have said, the pool furniture needs to be binned and the pools could be refurbished, but honestly, being on the beachfront made it all easy to overlook. We will be back!
