Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali

I usually wouldn't book a low-rated hotel, but I saw a super recommendation on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), so I booked it for 3 days. It was an absolute disaster. I stayed on the 3rd floor of the main building, and the room was so damp it made me question my life choices. When I told the front desk the room was too humid, they said they wouldn't have another room available until the next day. The next day, a similar room on the first floor became available, so I went online to search for hotel reviews. Some people said the first and second floors were very damp, and the sea-view rooms on higher floors were better. I was already in a connecting sea-view room on the 3rd floor, so I certainly wasn't going to risk a first-floor room. How damp was it? My daughter asked me why the quilt was wet, and I just told her to bear with it, as we'd be leaving soon. Because we spent most of those three days playing in the water downstairs, our passports were left in the hotel, and they got damp and bent (Photo 1 was taken when we were about to leave the hotel, Photo 2 was taken 3 hours later after boarding the plane). Regarding the hotel's food, the chairs in the main hotel restaurant had mold spots, looking really dirty. My son had diarrhea on the second night; I thought he'd eaten something unsanitary outside. On the third day, my daughter threw up, and she hadn't left the hotel at all except for breakfast. I've heard that the hotel in the family area is okay, which is the part on the right in Photo 3. The first three days in Bali, I stayed in a fantastic villa in Ubud, so this drop in quality was significant, and that villa was even much cheaper than this hotel. However, one good thing about the hotel is that there are many facilities for children to play with, and the kids did have a good time, and the view is also nice. I'm writing this review very seriously, hoping it can help others in the future. Nobody wants their vacation experience ruined by a hotel.

I had such a fantastic time! I stayed for 9 nights, and everything – the service, the room, the pool, and the beach – was excellent. I'm already looking forward to coming back next year!

Extremely satisfied! My kids have traveled to so many countries and islands, and stayed in countless five-star hotels. I thought they might find Bali a bit run-down, but they absolutely loved it! They even rated it far above Hawaii and Fiji. The staff's service attitude was excellent, and the food catered to everyone's tastes. It was very clean, and our ocean-view room offered direct views of the sea, sunrise, and even fireworks. The experience was fantastic! Everyone was so enthusiastic, making you feel like the money spent was incredibly worthwhile.

This hotel is a hidden gem! Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the lazy river, kids' pool, and kids' club, to its beachfront location, stunning views, and various activities. The breakfast spread was quite generous, there were plenty of pool options, and the beach offered lots of fun, making it perfect for families. We stayed in a newly renovated room in the main building; it was small but very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Grand Mirage Hotel is an excellent choice for families with children, and more! My mother and I stayed from August 13th to 16th and again from August 17th to 20th in an ocean-view room. It's worth noting that closer to the check-in date, there were hardly any vacancies left, so we booked 3 nights + 3 nights. Hotel strengths: - Rooms: large, clean, dry, private bath, hot water; excellent towels and bedding; TV, mugs, glasses, capsule coffee machine, tea, a small sofa. - Breakfast: ice cream, chocolate fountain, Oreos, marshmallows, pastries, pancakes, yogurts - a paradise for children. There's also plenty for adults to choose from: pasta, chicken, cheeses, various sandwiches, fruits. - Pools: a lazy river (super idea, we hardly left it the last few days), an adult infinity pool with sea view, and a large family pool. - Service: shuttle to Bali Collection, staff respond to requests immediately. Areas for the hotel to improve: - Animation schedule at an inconvenient time: yoga during breakfast (you have to choose between breakfast or yoga). The beach is not bad; we swam there. The sea is roped off with buoys (it's actually the sea, not the ocean, as there are breakwaters here and the water is calmer). Grand Mirage is one of our favorites in Bali; we'll definitely be back.
