Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest

⭐️Okayish Stay – Not What We Expected from Swiss-Belhotel We stayed at Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest, Bali for 2 nights, and overall, the experience was quite disappointing. The rooms are old and extremely smelly. The smell was persistent and uncomfortable throughout our stay. The washroom had a strong sewage like smell, especially as soon as the taps were opened. The shower setup itself was also quite weird and inconvenient. We arrived late at midnight on the first day, and surprisingly, housekeeping came to clean the room at 8:30 AM, even though we hadn’t switched on the “clean room” button, completely ruining our sleep. When we asked them to come later, no one came back the entire day, despite us switching on the clean room button. Our complimentary water bottles were not refilled, and tea/coffee sachets were not replenished either. Cleanliness overall was not good, especially considering the smell in the rooms and washrooms. The only major highlight of the hotel was the bar. The cocktails were absolutely delicious, a must try! The bartender was very friendly and skilled. The food was tasty, and the menu is quite large with plenty of options to choose from. Breakfast was decent, but on one day, we noticed a lot of flies sitting on the bread section. We informed a staff member, but she simply smiled and continued with her work without addressing the issue, which felt very odd and unhygienic. Another downside is that none of the public areas (restaurant, common spaces) are airconditioned. Given how hot and humid Bali is, this was VERY uncomfortable. Even the room AC was not very effective and took a long time to cool the room. Location wise, the hotel is around 15–20 minutes from the airport, which is convenient, but most tourist spots, markets, and beaches are quite far. I would personally recommend staying near Kuta Beach for better access to markets, beaches, and overall vibe. We have stayed at other Swiss Belhotel properties in Malaysia before and had a great experience, which is why we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, this one did not meet our expectations at all. The staff was polite and welcoming, but that alone couldn’t make up for the issues. Overall: • Cleanliness ❌ • Smell in rooms & washrooms ❌ • Housekeeping ❌ • Food ✅ • Cocktails ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hopefully I Would not return to this property.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the location was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

I could tell that the hotel is showing its age, you get what you pay for.

Decent affordable hotel with superb location, just 10mins away from Kuta Beach for sunset and few convenience stores just outside the hotel.

The building is old and the room is also kinda old. Amenities, service, and everything is good. The only minus point is it smells when I first entered the room and someone smoke close to my room.
