Nice motel in heart of Ballina, had parking and were able to go to supermarket which was close

Just love the food from this pub. It is reasonably priced also . Seating inside or outside. Service is great. A nice place for family get together or a long lunch. Will be back again..

Great accommodation in the middle of Ballina, excellent bistro food with outstanding food and service! Husband and wife team - Jane on front counter, Dally cooking up a storm and Jade on service! Food and service was next level awesomeness and deliciousness, prawn cutlets cooked to perfection, flathead fillets were tender with amazing mashed potatoes and steamed veggies, hubby’s chicken schnitzel was in his top 3 and the gravy was in his top 2 that he has tasted from around the world!!

This hotel/motel offers a place to stay in the middle of Ballina which is reasonably priced. The room we stayed in was clean. The only thing I could fault it on was that the wifi was very slow. The screen door had tears in it. We had dinner in their bistro which was delicious.

Never even made it to the hotel.... Tried organising a bus, waited outside the motel we were staying at for nearly half an hour past our pick up time (6pm) knowing that there was only a 2 hour window for their last bus for it not to come. Rang & the girl was laughing & then said oops he's still sitting here... Told her to forget it because I won't support crap service, went to Cherry St Bowlo & it was great... Good food, good service & pokies that pay .

The bistro meals are unbeatable value. Friendly service and no wait times even though all the tables were full. Perfect steak every time. The chicken schnitzel nearly bigger than the plate. The whole family was happy! Even won a couple of bucks on Keno.

I often go to the Slipway for lunch with family & friends, however, not anymore. Today was the third time that I have ordered the steak & chips for lunch asking for the steak to be cooked medium to well done, leaning more to well done. Each time the steak has been rare. When I return it the cook puts it back on the grill (with the gravy still on it). Today I, politely, refused to accept it. I asked for the manager & was told he wasn't on the premises. I wrote out a complaint, for the manager & surprise some man took it straight to the cook & had a good laugh over it. I wasn't even offered my money back. Absolutely disappointed in the lack of professionalism at the Slipway. Shame on them. Would not recommend.

It all started when we walked in and the cook referred to us as “walking ATM’s”. Didn’t get any better. Beer was off, replaced with an on tap beer. Sitting at a table with small children, had to listen to the vulgarity from the kitchen staff. Witnessed kitchen staff wiping their nose then touching food. Needless to say, the “walking ATM” and party of 9 walked away. Really disappointing for tourists with family in the area to be treated with such disdain. Sad news for this establishment is we spent 100’s of dollars elsewhere over the next 2 nights. Good thing this “walking ATM” has legs.

I’ve visited the Slipway Hotel Motel , pub area , well over a few times , over last year The drinks a welcoming cold from the extended bar Also apart from the bar , there’s Keno , TAB & pokies There’s also pub meals , which is well frequent during lunch time crowds I’ve never stayed at the accommodation
