When we are in Bangkok, we always choose Ayathorn. If you’re planning to explore the old part of Bangkok, this hotel is a great base. Many of the main attractions are within a 20–30 minute walk, and if you prefer, a short tuk-tuk ride gets you there even faster. There are also several very good local restaurants just a few minutes away on foot, which makes evenings easy and enjoyable. The rooftop is a nice plus perfect for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing, with a relaxing atmosphere, or for spending some time in the pool. One thing to be aware of is the major renovation works currently happening in front of the building, which can cause traffic congestion and some noise during the day. However, you can minimize this by booking a river-facing room, which is quieter. Also, if you arrive early, the hotel offers the option to check in before the standard time for an additional fee, which can be very convenient after a long flight.

Lovely hotel. Walking distance to Khao San Road. Walking distance to main attractions - Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Wat Saket. Nice pool area. Huge bed!

Fantastic stay at the Ayathorn, the beds are the comfiest in BKK! Staff were also amazing! Could not fault my stay.

I feel that the air conditioner and the walls in my room are not clean. When I turn on the AC, the airflow is strong and it triggers my allergies, causing rashes and itchy bumps on my skin.

Excellent base we had 2 twin rooms such comfy beds construction across the road which was outside our windows we couldn't hear at all. Amenities in the room top notch. Breakfast was included and I enjoyed it though my husband wasn't much of a fan. Only draw back we were there 2 days and had a 1/2 day tour booked 2nd day so asked the hotel how we could go about organising a tuktuk to take us around and show us sights in the evening. They were extremely helpful got it organised said it would be 1hr and where he would take us for a total of 1500baht we were happy with this but we arrived downstairs got loaded in and then were severely disappointed with what little we were shown and then we were dropped in China town as agreed with only having been in the tuk tukfor 30minutes part of which was him trying to drop us at the river for a longboat something we weren't doing or had planned to do, when we said how much do we owe as obviously not had 1hr he asked if we had paid the hotel we confirmed no he then said 1700baht. We said no and gave home the 1500 agreed it made us feel ripped off and let down. A tuk tuk back from China town to the hotel was 200 baht!

Our stay was very pleasant and there aren't many negative aspects to mention. The staff is super friendly and helpful in everything, breakfast is really good 4/5. The pool area is clean and has a good view and despite the constructions goin on next to it. Nice bar area with a lot of drinking choices. Lunch is also pretty nice. The only negative aspect is the noise at night as the room was facing the front of the hotel, but nothing too crazy as the hotel provides earplugs for the noise. Theres always a lot of negative and unnecessary reviews online in a lot of hotels that are unrealistic considering the different country and culture we people from the west are experiencing. Some people are just too picky.

The road was under construction, but the hotel was comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend the hotel's restaurant, it was fantastic!

Really nice hotel and room, friendly staff but loud construction on the road opposite. Main road next to the hotel is a bit difficult to cross as a pedestrian.

The room was great, with excellent river views from the balcony, and there's a rooftop pool. Plus, the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk service to Khao San Road!

We arrived at the hotel quite late, and check-out was strictly at 12 PM. We didn't have enough time to pack, and despite repeated attempts to communicate, they wouldn't even extend it to 12:30 PM, even if we offered to pay. If we could have just had until 1 PM, it would have been enough time, but we ended up rushing until 1 PM anyway, and the staff's attitude was extremely unpleasant. It was a very disappointing experience. We had hoped to enjoy the rooftop pool, but there was no opportunity. The hotel facilities are just average and a bit old. Our window overlooked a very murky river. The bed was comfortable, but the breakfast was very mediocre, not as good as what you'd find at a Holiday Inn. Overall, for the price and service, it doesn't live up to being a high-end hotel.

Very good hotel, but the location is not ideal for first-time visitors to Bangkok who want to see the main tourist attractions. They are currently building a metro line nearby, which should greatly improve accessibility in the future. Behind the hotel there is a small canal, and a boat can take you directly to the Jim Thompson Museum area, which is quite convenient. Breakfast is excellent, and the food is very good if you choose to have dinner at the hotel as well.
