"According to the name of the hotel, you can navigate to the parking space at the entrance of the hotel. Parking is very convenient and the venue is large enough. The waiter enthusiastically helped us unload the luggage from the car and sent it to the guest room. Thumbs up! The view from the front desk is great, facing the lawn and swimming pool, and the glass door of the breakfast room. The excellent borrowing of scenery can stretch the sight far. The guest room is the design pattern I like. I especially want to praise the gauze curtain in the bathroom area. When sleeping at night, you only need to turn on the light in the bathroom. The gauze curtain blocks the light, and you can still see the ground clearly when you get up in the middle of the night. My wife likes the balcony very much. She drinks coffee and posts on the balcony every afternoon when she comes back. The rice noodles for breakfast are really delicious. We ate it twice in three days. The porridge for breakfast was not repeated for three days, and it was delicious. Thumbs up! The hotel is not far from Line 5 of the subway station. It is just walking distance. I am afraid that parking is inconvenient when I go to the city center, so I always take the subway to visit the night market and taste local food. I especially recommend the stinky tofu pot rice noodles, which tastes great!"

VvivitataThe hotel is situated within the park grounds. If you drive, you can park in the underground garage, and the hotel offers a friendly electric cart pick-up service, even though the walk itself is only about five minutes. This is hands down the most convenient hotel I've ever stayed at! Right across from the hotel entrance are a 7-Eleven and MINISO, making it incredibly convenient to buy daily essentials. Next door, there's a KFC and Jianxinyuan, and within a few minutes' walk, you'll find many Yunnan specialty restaurants. With so many dining choices, there's absolutely no need for food delivery. After dinner, you can stroll around the beautiful park grounds, which include an Ocean Park and a ski resort – perfect for families with kids. The hotel truly goes above and beyond. They welcome you with flower cakes and tea, provide fresh fruit daily, and dessert every evening. For breakfast, you choose a set menu in advance, with rich and distinctive options. Since we woke up late and had small appetites, we practically made breakfast our brunch.

NNg Guang YunThe stay at this hotel was impressive, both in terms of service, hygiene and facilities. Here's my detailed evaluation of the stay:
Service Excellence
The hotel's staff are very friendly and efficient, and are able to respond quickly to the special needs of guests. For example, I made several special requests, and the hotel team not only responded in a timely manner, but also made sure that each request was handled properly. This kind of attentive service makes one feel very welcome.
Excellent hygiene The cleanliness of the
hotel was satisfactory and no dust or stains were found in the rooms. The bed linen and bedding were changed one by one, and the bathroom was kept very clean with no water stains or other problems. This makes me feel very relieved about the hygiene management of the hotel.
Breakfast & Afternoon Tea The
hotel's breakfast buffet offers everything from hot porridge to fresh fruit to a variety of breads and cakes. In addition, the selection of afternoon tea is also very rich, providing guests with more choices.
Late night snacks and special arrangements The late night snacks provided by the
hotel were equally delicious, especially considering that my wife was not feeling well, and the hotel also arranged a special service to bring the late night snacks to the room. This kind of meticulous care is heartwarming.
Freebies
Pleasantly surprised, the hotel gave guests a bottle of precious preserved mushrooms as a souvenir when they checked out. This little gift not only reflects the hotel's intentions, but also adds to the extra pleasure of the stay.
Overall Rating
Overall, the Papman stay was perfect. Whether it's the hygienic conditions, the quality of the service or the choice of food, it is very satisfying. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay.

AAnonymous UserExcellent stay at the Intercontinental in Kunming. The location is near the lake and a bit further out from the city centre but taxis are convenient. Very good value with spacious and clean rooms. It's a very big hotel with great facilities, including an indoor pool, 24h gym, large garden, bar and restaurants. Service was fantastic throughout our stay, and the front desk (Xiao Fu) helped with various queries promptly and also upgraded our room at check-in. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserHello everyone. We stayed at this hotel at the end of November 2024. Initially, we booked the hotel for 5 days, then we extended, extended and in the end, we stayed there for 11 nights. The hotel is new, clean. The rooms have good quality robes, toiletries. We were quite satisfied with the breakfasts. We were pleased with the availability of freshly squeezed juices. The main staff does not speak English, but this is not a problem, since the on-line translator saves us, and the staff tries very hard to understand what you want from them. The only person who speaks excellent English was the manager Sam. A man passionate about his work. He told us a lot about the hotel and what is nearby. And there is a lot there: a park with playgrounds, a bungee jump, and a birdhouse with parrots. Sam showed us a place next to the hotel, which is a set for films. Boat station, where you can take a boat and take a walk on the lake and go straight to the hotel grounds. The hotel itself is in a great location, in a lowland, on the shore of the lake. If you plan a trip to Kunming, then it is far from the city. But we needed a quiet and beautiful place. And we got it. With the window open in the evenings and mornings you can hear the fish splashing in the lake and the ducks quacking. It was great to sleep, as the mattress and pillows are of excellent quality. We will definitely come back here and will recommend it to our friends.
P.S. Once again, we say a huge thank you to Sam, he not only told and showed us a lot about the hotel and the surrounding area, he also helped us solve some issues with our luggage at the airport. A wonderful, responsive person. The hotel management is very lucky to have such a person on their team.
GGuest UserThe front desk service was exceptional. Our room was spacious and bright. The front desk staff, especially the young lady, were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. They even gave us a complimentary room upgrade since we were traveling with a child. This will definitely be our top choice hotel for future trips to Kunming!

DDoulingzhengdehuangdiWe stayed here for three nights. It's a charming and beautiful boutique hotel. The room's soundproofing was quite good, and the hygiene was impressive. Although the front desk staff's attitude at check-in was very poor, the lobby manager, who happened to be nearby, noticed the situation and promptly resolved it. We were also given a complimentary gift bag upon departure, which was much appreciated!
**Suggestions for Improvement:**
1. The breakfast menu could definitely use some improvement. They should consider adding more meat dishes, as currently, there isn't much to eat besides a bowl of noodles. The restaurant itself is quite small, leading to wait times during busy periods. Optimizing the table and chair layout could significantly increase seating capacity.
2. I didn't participate in the afternoon tea, but I noticed some guests carrying fruit and prawn crackers to eat by the rooftop pool. Given that seating on the rooftop is already limited, I hope the hotel can enforce better management. Just a few days ago, at the Shangri-La in Shenzhen, guests wearing hotel slippers into the restaurant were stopped, but here, such behavior in the restaurant seems to be largely ignored by the staff.
3. The elevator wait times are definitely long. Two elevators are simply not enough for the hotel. Once you're upstairs, you almost don't want to come down because you know you'll have to wait so long for an elevator again.
4. While the hotel's location *seems* convenient for reaching various places, in reality, getting around by foot or car actually consumes a surprising amount of time.
5. The exhaust fan in the bathroom is practically ineffective. The lingering smell of a previous guest's smoking in the toilet area was very strong and wouldn't dissipate. Although the hotel did come to address it later, which helped a lot, I hope they can improve the exhaust fan's performance in the future.

GGuest UserI knew the style in Kunming hostels is that the shower and basin areas are shared between men and women when booking, but got cold feet when I saw it for myself. Thankfully the staff helped me get a full refund for the paid dorm room so I could make a new booking for a single room instead. The location is good for folks who like to walk 1 to 2 km easy walking paths to attractions and train stations. The cleaning team was very good and cleaned my room well everyday. The single room provided 1 hair dryer, 2 toothbrush, 1 comb, 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 bottled water and 2 paper cups every day. 2 tea bags and 1 water boiler. There is also a room where you can take free hot water near the public washroom.
The attractions of walking distance is mostly to the north of the hostel, while the attractions in the south needs bus or train transport. Bring an umbrella and plastic slippers during summer for when you get caught in the lovely rain.
The hostel design theme is pub and bar, so expect alcohol and tobacco smell as you pass by the public space to reach your rooms. The pub/bar area is also where hostel visitors have their breakfast and mingle. There are plenty of nice roof top open air spaces and open air corridors as well. Overall a pleasant stay, but I would try another hostel if you dislike tobacco smell when having meals or when you want to mingle with other travellers.

Very Good
CCaoyuWe actually traveled from Guiyang, a city renowned across China for its pleasantly cool climate. But as soon as we stepped off the high-speed train in Kunming, we were met with the refreshing autumn coolness of 'Colorful Yunnan' – it was incredibly delightful! No wonder it's become such a popular tourist destination.
We've stayed at the Sofitel Hotel many times before. Its luxurious swimming pool, along with the exquisite, diverse, and upscale buffet dinner and breakfast, are simply irresistible. All guest rooms are located above the 35th floor. Pull back the curtains, and the entire 'Spring City' Kunming unfolds before your eyes, offering a breathtaking panoramic view. From afar, one can admire the magnificent scenery of Dianchi Lake and the Western Hills.
Another highlight was Lydia. She paid attention to our needs even before check-in and frequently checked in on our experience during our stay. This personalized care made us feel incredibly at ease and reassured.
The hotel boasts a prime downtown location, with a subway entrance conveniently nearby. Within walking distance, you can find many local eateries popular with residents, making it incredibly convenient for exploring local food and sights. Overall, the Sofitel Hotel truly serves as a perfect representation of 'Colorful Yunnan'.
AAnonymous UserThis homestay is only a few dozen meters away from Dianchi Lake. There are ethnic villages, Haigeng Park, Haihong Wetland, etc. around it. It is very convenient to visit. I saw red-headed gulls in Haihong Wetland. The homestay is comfortable and clean, and the service is very good. You can make tea and drink coffee in the public area. There are also private dishes here. The two of us ordered a 98 yuan set meal, which was good. We stayed in two rooms for two nights. The whole house is voice-controlled intelligently, which is very convenient. It is quiet to sleep at night. The community environment is also very good. It is a high-end villa area

SSoloTravelAnnaI recently spent two nights at this accommodation, and while there were not many foreigners around, I still found it to be a decent experience.
Upon arrival, I received a coupon, which was a nice touch, but I found that the minimum spending requirement made it less useful for solo travelers like myself. I had requested a bottom bunk but ended up with a top one, and I found the bed to be quite hard. However, the provided curtains added a nice level of privacy.
On the plus side, they offer lockers, towels, and slippers, which is convenient. The bathroom, however, could use a bit more attention as it needed cleaning, and I noticed that the shower had a leak.
Overall, considering the price, I can't really complain too much. The staff at the front desk were friendly and spoke English, which made communication easy. Just a heads-up: there are two flights of stairs, and you'll need to walk through the restaurant/bar area to access the lift to the rooms.
All in all, it’s a budget-friendly option that meets basic needs!
