First time taking grandson to Chester with an over night stay. First impression of Hotel including location was excellent and I have only one negative from our stay which was reported to reception on checking out. There is a big problem in the hotel with bedroom doors slamming shut noisily every time someone enters or leaves a room as they have no dampening which spoilt our evening and night in our room. The rest of the hotel was excellent with a good swimming pool and restaurant. The breakfast can only be described as superb with our grandson thoroughly enjoying it. The location including the car parking was ideal for walking round Chester City Centre with a 100 yd walk to the main streets and the Levels.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel for a City Break and would easily qualify for 5 stars if they could put some dampening device / closing spring on the bedroom doors.

Guest UserThis stay was really nice but to pay for spa was disappointing I was only there one night as my husband was in hospital close by so ended up paying 40 for spa in night and in morning and there where lots of people with club membership so wasnât that relaxing as I was staying at hotel to relax I wouldnât return the staff where really nice so if you donât want a spa to relax I would recommend

Breakfast was good, dining room was overly full so had to go in the conference room, which really should have been laid out properly to use and not abandoned chairs everywhere. Should have had cutlery and condiments in that room too.

Guest UserWe had a lovely greeting and a pleasant suprise our room was ready early so we were able to go straight to the room.
The room was spacious, quiet and clean. Lovely toiletries in bathroom.
The staff throughout were always friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good although a few items were not replenished for quite a while.
We have stayed previously as location is excellent and we are always happy with the service and standard.

Stayed here last night, everything was perfect. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for one night. The hotel is close to the city so just an uber ride away. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we opted for the breakfast the next day which was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

Guest UserLovely hotel with nice big clean rooms. A few issues though - you really need a car to get here as it's a bit far out from the city centre. In my room there was a room service menu and a number to dial for room service, but no phone. The food and drink was ok. During my stay there was only 1 person on the bar and service was a little slow. I ordered a soft drink and it was a bit flat, definitely not worth the ÂŁ4 they charged for it. Because of staff shortages the dining room was filled with tables that needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was also a bit of a disaster. They charge ÂŁ15 for it but definitely not worth it. There's a self serve hot buffet which was fine, nothing exceptional. There was no coffee available, just tea bags and hot water. Also there were no plates available at the continental station - really missing attention to detail when there were quite a few staff members present.

For a normal size breakfast you had to pay extra, the heating was broken in the spa so it was quite cold. The hotel did look a bit tatty in places. Service was lacking, always had to chase the staff members. Lovely building and good location.

Location is superb for Chester Centre.

On the whole a pleasant experience.Â
From a cleanliness perspective it was fairly good but there were quite a few spiders webs in ceiling corners and under radiators which had likely been there for some time.Â
Breakfast was fine however when some of our party arrived 10 minutes before the end of serving there were no glasses for juice and no bowls for fruit/cereal to use. Appreciate its close to the end of the time frame but breakfast was still open. Also if you like coffee, then Iâd avoid the coffee served at breakfast.
