Hôtel la Roya

Wonderful and caring staff, great location and boat pickup to white sand beaches. Very special experience

The Hotel de la Roya exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel itself is an architectural marvel and is a must see for anyone interested in beauty, design and architecture. The service was exceptional from the front desk, to the service at breakfast and for the rooms. My wife had the best cappuccino ever at breakfast, and she has had her share of cappuccino. Our room was extremely comfortable with a balcony and sea view, which made us want to stay in all day and drink wonderful Italian Illy coffee provided in the room. Of course, the lovely village Saint Florent with much to offer (history, great boulangerie, food and drinks) is only a 10 minute walk along the beach. We did not take a boat ride to one of the non-serviced, over-crowded "exclusive" beaches. Instead, we walked 10 minutes in the opposite direction to the Plage de la Roya to enjoy it's fine sand and clear, warm water. If we are lucky, we will have the opportunity to visit this incredible hotel again. For now, we will dream about it. Merci beaucoup to the wonderful people at Hotel de la Roya!

A very nice Hotel in a great location. Very clean and a good breakfast. We paid for a sea view which was nice but the room is quite small. Our friends paid nearly a €100 euros less per night for a lateral view and had a much bigger room. We booked the boat trip and after asking twice discovered there was only water available. We paid €950 between two couples for the afternoon session 2.30-6pm stopping at some lovely beaches, but at that price a few beers and some nibbles wouldn’t have gone amiss.

We drove from the middle part of Corsiva by car and were looking for a beach hotel in Saint Florent for 3 nights. This one was recommended to us. We went inside to see the beach. The staff immediately came running and chased us away. They said it was for hotel guests only. The beach was completely empty, we just stood and watched. I said that we are looking for a hotel to stay in Saint Florent and we need to look around. At the reception we were told that if we want to stay on the beach, then one sun lounger costs 40 euros! Seriously? There are no such prices even in Cannes. This inhospitable meeting made a repulsive impression on us, we got into the car and drove on to look for another hotel and found it! The manager needs to seriously work with his staff otherwise they will scare away all potential guests. I do not recommend this hotel to those who appreciate good service and friendly attitude.
