This is a beautiful property and it appeared to be a great location to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, there were a few issues that really let it down for us. The check in process was really unorganized and took far too long since we were encouraged to take a tour of some other rooms in consideration of an upgrade (conveniently our allocated room only had twin beds and there were no other king beds available). Long story short everything seems so unorganized as though the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Excluding a small handful of individuals the customer service from staff was lacking in warmth and friendliness and there was a vibe that they didn’t enjoy working there. Too many disappointments to list here so I don’t think we’d go back to this resort.

Our room was spacious and comfortable! All of the villas were close to everything, it was very walkable. And there were plenty of food options to choose from each day. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I’d highly recommend this resort and we will definitely be back!

The bartenders are nonexistent. There is no nightlife and it is a great place to get away if you want no noise.

We had high hopes for our vacation at ZEL Punta Cana, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. While the resort itself is visually stunning — the grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are modern, clean, and very well-designed — everything else fell short, especially for a place marketed as a luxury all-inclusive. The buffet food was consistently cold and unappetizing. Every meal we had there lacked flavor and freshness. It honestly felt like food was being left out too long without proper temperature control. To make matters worse, there was very little variety for children, which made mealtimes even more difficult for families. The drinks were also disappointing — most tasted extremely watered down. Whether at the pool, bar, or restaurant, the quality was not what you’d expect from a resort of this level. Our biggest issue was with the concierge service, or rather the complete lack of it. Our concierge never introduced himself, never reached out, and never followed up. As a result, we were unable to make any dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants. We were forced to leave the resort and pay for dinner 3 out of the 5 nights, costing us nearly $500 — a major inconvenience and an unexpected expense at an “all-inclusive” resort. We reported our concerns to the front desk and staff several times, but our complaints were never addressed. There was no follow-up, no solution, and no accountability. We stayed at ZEL Punta Cana for our anniversary and had a truly beautiful experience. The resort is stunning—lush, tropical, clean, and filled with charming walking paths and photo-worthy spots. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed. It felt like a home away from home. The staff were warm and welcoming—special thanks to Eliezer (concierge), Rafelito, Angelisa (buffet hostess), Yajaira (the sweetest barista who made the best iced lattes), Mateo (full of beachside energy), and Rudy for amazing service. Their kindness made our trip unforgettable. The food was great overall. We loved the poolside and beach restaurants for lunch—so fresh and flavorful. The buffet offered yummy salads, pizza, and daily breakfast with omelets, fruit, and pastries. À la carte and hibachi dinners were delicious, and drinks from the bars were always well made. A few small hiccups like housekeeping delays and tech issues with QR menus didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time here. If you visit, come prepared with personal essentials just in case—pharmacy prices can be high. ZEL has such a cozy, boutique feel. We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and already planning our return.
