The Good -The pool area, when open, is absolutely stunning and amazing. -The cleanliness of our rooms was fabulous. -Staff, despite not being able to speak English or French, were very nice.  -Renovated rooms are nice. The Bad/ugly -ROOM : Upon arrival, we were given a partial ocean view. We returned to the front desk and were told that it was an oceanview and that we got an upgraded room. The smell of paint in this room was very strong. We were told that an oceanview room would cost exponentially more than what we paid. -We spoke to many people in the same building and they all paid for a gardenview room and got a free upgrade with the same view. They seem to arbitrarily give out rooms with no logic. -The manager kept telling us that they were in transition and we needed to be patient.  -We were luckier than another couple who arrived the next day. They paid for the oceanfront and got a gardenview.   -After 5 days and many conversations, we were given an oceanfront room on the fifth floor. I had to sign a waiver for this.  -After two nights of rain, this 5th floor room had water puddles on those two nights. This newly renovated room will probably need to be redone very soon as the wall where the water was coming in was already crumbling.   -In both rooms, the patio doors did NOT lock.  Thank goodness we were on high floors. -Bedsheets often had holes. -Incidentals :  We had to pay 3$ US a day to use the safe in the room and give a 20$ US deposit for towels.  -Kids : We were told once again by the deputy manager that they were in transition and we needed to be patient.  He said the kids would be gone by Tuesday of our first week. Those kids did, but there are condos on the property that are rented out so they had kids who used the same amenities as us. -Resort : is under construction. Our days were filled with sounds of jackhammers, saws, sanders, etc. They were heard around the pool and at dinner time in our room, from 9-6. -3 of the 4 pools were closed our second week. First couple of days due to high winds and because of a storm that filled them with sea****, they needed to be emptied.  After emptying them, they decided to fix and paint them.  The smell of strong epoxy was nauseating. -We only had one available pool that only had ladders to get in and out of, so anyone with disabilities was not able to use this pool.  -The resort is open to the public on weekends.  They arrive early and create line ups at the bar by the pool. -So after being down to one pool for the second week, we had kids and locals to share the one pool as well. -All the staff, including the ones at the front desk, have a very limited knowledge of English. -Food :  No mimosas. -Nothing good to say about the food. Same food at every meal, no themes or variety. Except for eggs in the morning, they do not cook anything fresh at the buffet unless they run out of something and you happen to get lucky to be there at that exact moment.  -You cannot ask them to cook fresh pr

Hello there. I am writing because I have not been able to get a response from your resort through email. I am concerned about my booking at your resort as I have been seeing posts on Facebook (with pictures included) that your ocean view rooms are under construction. I have been seeing posts from customers currently at your resort saying that they paid for ocean-view rooms but were put in partial ocean-view rooms. My concern is if I was charged and have paid extra for an ocean view room, I would like to know that these are available before I depart in 9 days. I have seen pictures showing building 3 is under construction although Sunwing is saying that they have not had any reports of construction so I am confused and concerned. I'm sorry to reach out this way but my other attempts to reach this resort have not seemed to reach anyone.

I am currently on the resort, my first day and already I can tell its going to be a long week for us. The AC and wifi are not working in our room, as well as the tv and the telephone . The food is average and they do not offer many options. We went to the reception to report the issues in our room, and only after the fourth time going there asking someone to come and fix it we finally got a technician at 11pm. The technician came and couldn’t fix the issues as well. The only good thing about this resort is that the pools are fabolous and the ocean overlook are a great hangout spot. Other than the pools, I am sorry it will be a massive disappointment.

Our room was just recently renovated so there was a bit of a smell from the silicone still. They had turned off the hot water and it took us nagging them forva couple of days until they put it back on again, same with the air conditioning. We were in building 4, great balconies, nice size rooms. Food was better than I expected. Not great, but very adequate. Lots of variety but get there at opening. Wine and beer were very good.

Very impressed with the location and the grounds of this resort .The pools were very well maintained and plenty of sun loungers for everyone . Our room was very spacious and clean . The buffet food in the main restaurant was good quality and there was always a variety of different styles of cuisine to try. The deserts were beautifully presented but sometimes lacked flavour . There were two other small restaurants that offered a Mexican or Italian menu with a sit down table setting and waiter service which made a change and very relaxing .The staff were all very friendly and helpful.Lovely cocktails were made by the staff at the bar in the main lobby area . Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

I rate this review 4 and not lower or higher because anywhere I go with my friends we make it a good time. The hotel is beautiful ( the scenery) I love the saltwater pools and the fact the pools overlook the ocean is amazing. There are a few things I would change which I will speak directly to management about. Entertainment needs a live DJ and versatility. Need more exquisite food but the food was okay. I love the snack bar. (great fried chicken). I love the main bar at the hotel entrance as they make the best drinks. You need to try the Amrita Sour (hope I spelled it right). Looove the excursions and they are very affordable. Check out Juan for that. Please request Jacob as your tour guide for the boat excursion. So much to unpack but overall my girls and I had a blast. The beds are big and beautiful with spacious rooms. The staff are friendly and welcoming. With some suggestions to tweak things here and there, this will be a 5-star hotel. I won't knock them. I will definitely be going back.

I was desperately hoping to love this place, the pictures were amazing and reviews really good but sadly this resort is 2* at best. I only arrived yesterday but have not had the best experience so far. When I checked in I wasn’t given any information on the resort, where things were located outside of the room, no idea on restaurants available , booking reservations, or what amenities were available, etc. Other than a deposit is needed for towels. Then once in my room there was no running water in the bathroom (shower or toilet wasn’t working) also has a high adhesive smell. I had to go to the front desk to get someone to come fix it. I didn’t even know about the sunwing meet up until accidentally running into with the rep in the morning at the front desk. In addition to that basic amenities doesn’t exist - blow dryer in room, iron or extra linens, they only provide two towels, mini fridge only has 2 bottles of water and no other drinks provided, etc. Tv didn’t work, wifi doesn’t work, ac doesn’t work and only one size pillow which is mountainous and too high for me so I had to sleep with nothing. There is no sign for the door to tell if you need housekeeping or no and after the room was ‘cleaned’ the towels from the previous day were left behind and no fresh ones provided. Today after a beautiful day at the ‘beach’/pool area (although no wait staff to serve any of the guest's around the pool, staff in general hit and miss for friendliness/welcoming), went back to the room to shower and the water pressure slowly went to a drizzle and then all cold water shut off, when I turned the tap the other way scolding hot water came out and almost burned me. Still with shampoo in hair, i went to the front desk to request another room and was told No flat out. Presently spending my vacation waiting for maintenance to come again to try and fix. The dinning experience so far - hard to get any service at the small buffet (more serve yourself food and drinks). The only winning point that this resort has above even some of the 5* places I’ve stay (Royalton chic to name one) is the selection of food and flavour. I love the French flare that it has (dad’s gratin, ratatouille, and morning crepes were all delicious). A great selection of international cuisine and done flavourfully. There is also some seafood options (not for me but they looked delicious). Desserts are a knock out, beautifully done in terms of presentation and flavour. Not really sure how this a 4* resort. Hopefully sunwing reads reviews and will re-evaluate this recent addition to their portfolio and assist it with becoming the 4* level it claims.
