Golden Eagle Inn

I stayed here twice on a recent round trip. Both times I stayed in the smallest room. It was located on the top floor, and it was just what I needed: a comfortable bed, a TV, a private bathroom, a rocking chair, and a view of the mountains. I ate dinner and breakfast in the dining room, and the food was very good. Breakfast was not the normal hotel breakfast buffet; instead, it was a fresh-cooked full breakfast that was different both mornings I was there. Both times the breakfasts included a fresh fruit cup, eggs, sausage/bacon, and something starchy -- pancakes one time and beignets the second time. I drive this trip every summer, and the Golden Eagle will be my halfway point from now on.

The central location is excellent—you can park your car upon arrival (free off-street parking is a big plus) and explore everything on foot. The hosts are lovely and incredibly attentive, making sure every need is met. The complimentary breakfast is homemade, delicious, and a thoughtful touch that’s included in the price. We visited during a particularly hot weekend, so the central air conditioning was greatly appreciated. The on-site bar is charming, with a well-curated selection of beer and spirits. While the outdoor patio could benefit from a bit more upkeep (I tend to prefer a more manicured garden), it’s still a pleasant space to relax. Overall, a wonderful stay—great value for the price, and we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful inn. The food was incredibly delicious and the Irish pub in the basement was such a cool place to hang out and meet new friends. We met Tom, one of the innkeepers, and he was such a gracious and friendly host. Everyone at the Golden Eagle made it a wonderful experience and awesome stay

We went for an anniversary trip and enjoyed this quaint inn with exceptional food, clean room and comfy bed. The hosts were welcoming and happy to please. Located in downtown Bedford, with local shops and restaurants added to our enjoyment. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this inn!

We were on our way from NJ to visit our daughter in Columbus Ohio and needed a convenient mid-way stop off Interstate 76. We definitely found it at the Golden Eagle! It is very conveniently located about 5 minutes from the highway in the center of the pleasant town of Bedford. Our room was pretty and period authentic (It is an old but well maintained building). We ate dinner at the lower level pub. T he atmosphere was fun and the food was excellent. Breakfast in the main dining room was plentiful and delicious too. Overall, a great stay!
