Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong

I chose this hotel for my trip and I'm extremely satisfied. The room was clean and bright, the environment was quiet, and I had a great rest. The front desk staff were friendly, patient, and efficient, and very welcoming to tourists. The location is convenient for getting around. It's a perfect place to stay for a trip. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and it was very comfortable. The front desk service was excellent, and the room was clean and tidy. There was an air purifier, which I really liked. The free minibar drinks every day were a nice touch… And the fact that there’s no service charge when dining at the Chinese restaurant makes you feel like you absolutely have to try it! The transportation is very convenient. It's definitely a place tourists should choose for a holiday getaway!

The environment is beautiful, although the swimming pool is a bit small. But it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The room was also very new, and the kids loved it. The bed was large, a 2.2m bed, and very comfortable to sleep in. It rained at night so we didn't go out and instead had the seafood buffet. We even got to scoop our own seafood, which the kids found fun and unique. For the seafood buffet, my child even said that the chocolate and ice cream cake, which came out last around 8 PM, were the best things they ate. The concierge was very thoughtful, helping to receive a delivery, even unpacking it and bringing it up, and also helping with luggage. Getting a taxi to Wangfujing took only 15 minutes, which was very convenient.

Unfortunately, I have to give this a negative review. I first stayed at the Chang Fu Gong in 2018, and I've been connected with it for almost 8 years. This year alone, I've stayed four times, totaling about seven or eight nights. My impression of the Chang Fu Gong Hotel has always been excellent. This time, I even canceled another hotel to bring my mother here to experience this hotel with its Japanese-Chinese cultural blend. However, the experience was truly terrible! The room was on the 12th floor. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, we noticed a strong, suspicious smell, possibly from renovation. Once inside the room, the odor was very severe. We went out for dinner, leaving the air purifier running. Four hours later, when we returned to the room, the smell was still so strong it made us dizzy! It's ironic that the room description mentioned a 'fresh air system.' Another reason for the bad review is the service attitude. We reported the odor issue to the hotel a total of three times. The final time was through the Ctrip platform. The first three times we reported it were to housekeeping, then to the room service hotline (requesting a room change, but the new room also had the odor, indicating the entire 12th floor was affected), and finally to the front desk at check-out. Yet, there was absolutely no feedback! The duty manager only became aware of the situation after we had already checked out, reached the airport, and reported it to Ctrip, who then contacted the hotel. This shows that our first three attempts to communicate with the hotel were completely ineffective. I even explicitly suggested, "You should have your manager come and smell it personally," but the duty manager had no idea that the guest had reported the issue three times. However, the duty manager's apology was sincere, but there was no follow-up action, haha. There was no clear response regarding my request for a 50% refund on the room rate. Ultimately, Ctrip bore the cost of a 200 RMB refund. Please manage better! The frontline staff are diligent, but perhaps they are afraid to report problems upwards? Or maybe my contribution of less than ten room nights a year is too small to matter? In conclusion, it's very disappointing. The Chang Fu Gong Hotel, which used to be my top choice when visiting Beijing, will probably not be my choice again.

The hotel maintains the consistently meticulous service style of a Japanese five-star establishment. Although it's an older hotel, the interior is incredibly well-maintained and doesn't feel dated at all. Housekeeping staff member #170 was prompt, thorough, and attentive in their daily duties. They consistently observed when guests left to clean the room immediately, which left a great impression on us and reflects positively on the hotel's management. The only minor drawback was the hotel breakfast; we stayed for five days, and the food options were almost identical every day with no variety.

The hotel boasts a superb environment and well-appointed rooms, including a bathtub. It's clean, hygienic, and the service is excellent; they even helped with our luggage. The location is prime, right by the 2nd Ring Road and with a subway station just outside the door.

Facilities: The swimming pool is clean and has a lifeguard. The Japanese restaurant has a great ambiance and excellent service. Hygiene: Very clean. The small courtyard is quiet and pleasant, and the rooms are well soundproofed. Environment: Great location, convenient for both taxis and the subway.

I stumbled upon this hotel, and it turned out to be a great find! The location is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the rooms are fantastic. Plus, the price is incredibly reasonable. The rooms are clean and tidy, and all the staff are very polite! The family king room is definitely the perfect choice for a family trip with kids!
