Location is fabulous, it was clean but cleaning of room everyday involved just changing of towels and clearing of dustbin. Room was a little too small and it was hard to put my suitcase anywhere else except on the big queen sized bed. Stairs going up was a definite minus as it was hard lugging a heavy suitcase up and down. However, location is superb and for the price, it was really worth it!

Stayed for 5 nights in total, 3 nights in the double room and 2 nights in a twin room. As others have mentioned, they will ask you to open your luggage for inspection before checking in. Love the courtyard style of the hotel, and the cat is so cute! The location is great as well! Right near Qianmen Street with lots of good food, and less than 10 min walk from both Zhushikou Station (Lines 7/8) and Qianmen Station (Line 2/8). If you're coming with luggage I recommend Zhushikou because it has escalators; Qianmen has lots of stairs. The hotel itself has 3 floors, no elevator. Bathroom situation varies, for the double room just a curtain separated the shower area, so the bathroom floor gets very wet everywhere. For the twin room, it looks more recently renovated, and had a door separating the shower area. Overall a fantastic stay in the middle of Beijing!

The location was very convenient it was close to many of the tourist attractions. The check in and check out process was very smooth, you do need to have your luggage go through a security check which I think is a requirement because of its proximity to tianamen square and the forbidden city. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they provided us with an adapter to use for our laptop since we forgot to pack ours. Overall a great budget stay.

Decent and clean room with all the necessary stuff you need except for the bathroom design (like what one of the other reviewers said). The sink and shower shares the same space, followed by the toilet further in. So after you shower the entire space is just soaked. Some parts could do with some patching and repair but generally it was good for a sleep! The lighting at night had a really nice ambient. The hutong can be a bit dark but it was still pretty alive at night from 9-10pm. The stated security check was a check thru by one of the hotel staff.

Excellent location. Near main tourist attractions and many shops and restaurants. Staff is helpful and welcoming. The room is not cleaned everyday, but they do take out the trash and bring fresh towels and toiletries daily.
The rooms are spacious, but my bathroom was a bit cramped. Good WiFi and hotel is quiet, so good for resting. Good quality toilet paper.

Very good location for a short trip in Beijing. Streets around with all kind of restaurants and shops. Easy to get to the metro station too. Price worth.
Hotel was clean and we had a tripel room so had more then enough space. No breakfast but around is enough Chinese options or a Starbucks / coffee places for western option.
Check in was smooth even though they will not speak much English.

Great location, it is nearby some walking streets. As it is close to Tiananmen square the hotel requires you to open your bags to be scanned on check in. The non-smoking rooms smelt a bit like cigarettes, but the staff were helpful.
