Lovely hotel up in the mountains. I used it as a base while I hiked the Rila mountains

The place is amazing. We loved everything about the hotel - the location, the service, everything. The hotel is located at the heart of Rila mountain, in the village of Beli Iskar. There are lots of trails and beautiful scenery to explore both in the summer and winter. The hotel itself is quite new, modern and brilliantly furnished. The style uses a combination of wood and metal, you won't see cheap plastic furniture and you can easily say someone with a vision designed the place. They get bonus points for sustainability - usually hotels in Bulgaria mark themselves as sustainable without knowing what this means, but not this one. This hotel does care, e.g. you won't see the usual plastic bottles and single use plastic there, instead you get refillable glass bottles and soap dispensers. Cheers for that! The restaurant is also very nice. The food is really tasty and prepared with fresh (I also suspect organic) produce. It's obvious a pretty good chef designed the menu. They also have a lot of vegetarian options and an exceptional wine list. Last but not least, the staff is super friendly and nice, always going out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you have a productive stay. All in all, this hotel is a rarity in Bulgaria and we'll definitely visit again.

This hotel is very cozy place near Sofia and provides a lot of opportunities to explore Eco Trail Beli Iskar or other places around (e.g. Borovets, Malyovitsa and so on). The place looks good outside and inside. There is car parking next to the building. The rooms are a bit small but equiped with everything you need - a coffee machine, kettle, a new and powerful hairdryer that can cope with long and short hairs and so on. There is also big balkony with chairs. The restorant works the whole day, so you can eat whenever you are hungry (e.g. at your arrival). The food is delicious. When there are not so many guests in the hotel, there is breakfast menu with meals to choose from. There is sauna and steam bath. However the space is small and doesn't allow to be used by more than 4 people at the same time.
