Just back from a week long stay at the Bali booked through TUI. Location wise, the hotel is pretty much spot on, near the beach, bars and restaurants. It is on a steep hill, but it is short and manageable. There are further steps down to the beach, if you have a pushchair it's easier to walk to the marina and head down to the beach there, or head into La Carihuela. We were on an early flight, arriving before our room was ready, not a problem as we were given a room to store our luggage and our wristbands and cards for the All-inclusive and given use of the hotel facilities until the room was ready. The room itself was one of the refreshed ones in Bali I, which overlooked nothing in particular but did have a partial sea view. This room was ideal as it was quiet, even the entertainment was not heard at night. The room was clean enough, with just about enough storage for 2 adults and a toddler. There was a pull down bed, which did eat into the space in the room. This couldn't be put up to give a bit more space in the room. The bathroom was fully equipped with a bath and shower. Toiletries were also provided. There were a couple of ******* with the room, which were sorted very quickly. The all-inclusive isn't quite what you'd expect, as there is a snack room to pick stuff up, with meals served in the restaurant. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice over the week with little repetition, the steak Veracruz style was sublime. The drinks are good, with a ticket system to reduce waste. You hand your ticket over for a cup and drink, you then hand your cup over to get another until you're done and you then ask for a ticket back. Again there was plenty of choice here, from milkshakes to cocktails. The staff in this hotel are excellent, really friendly and helpful. Reception staff got us checked in quickly and sorted out our ******* quickly. The bar staff were quick and efficient at serving, a special mention has to go to Veronica in Sunny View Café for putting up with my terrible Spanish and entertaining our toddler. The entertainment team were also top class, with some great shows throughout the week. There is even a photo team there to take pictures during your stay, we got some, but they are quite expensive (around €6 per digital picture plus CD/Memory Stick). The pool areas were clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day. The Splash Park was brilliant, not too busy and ideal for younger kids with older ones using the bigger pools. Overall I had a great experience at The Bali, and if I was to return to Benalmadena, it would be in the running.
