Located on a hill in Beppu City, it has a great view, and there are rooms with a panoramic view of Beppu city and Beppu Bay. We stayed in the Sakura room, which had one indoor and one outdoor private onsen, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. We had two meals a day, and over our two-day stay, we tried both the teppanyaki and Japanese cuisine. The teppanyaki was just okay, but the Japanese food was decent. The Japanese-style breakfast was also quite substantial. You can book a JR pick-up in advance, and the hotel is right around the corner from Umi Jigoku (Hell's Sea), making it very convenient for sightseeing.

Do NOT book this hotel! The only upside is its proximity to the hot spring by the volcano. Other than that, it's a disaster. The rooms are old and run-down, with severely outdated facilities. The old Indian guy at the front desk and the staff have terrible attitudes; they're rude and condescending. What's most infuriating is that they kept hounding us to check out before 11 AM, well before the official check-out time. The entire experience was a nightmare, absolutely dreadful!

Our stay has been nothing short of amazing! We were grateful for hotel shuttle service to the hotel as it saves us the trouble of climbing up slopes with our luggages. When we arrived, we were greeted by the warm welcome of the staff with free drinks provided at the lounge. The Sora Room is well equipped with amenities and comes with the private onsen, for you to enjoy any time. Recommend to get the ice (outside room) for a cool ice coke after onsen. Definitely have to give the Japanese breakfast and Kaiseiki dinner a try. Every single dish is so delicious and palatable. The hotel is located at Kanawa, within walking distances to the popular attractions such as Hells of Beppu and Onsen Museum. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Beppu!
