Had the pleasure of staying here for two nights, which allowed us to sample Yings home cooked Thai food and award winning pies. Both meals were hearty and high quality, as well were the cooked breakfasts of a morning. All served in the snug area, which had 2 lovely leather sofas to rest in afterwards. We never felt rushed when eating, even when the pub was closed. Ying was very attentive and the perfect host. The room we stayed in was massive with matching King Size bed. The room was bright, clean, and well furnished. If you don't like the sound of the country bring ear plugs as the neighbours rooster can be a bit loud, but It wouldn't put us off going back though. Walking around the area was relaxing and whilst the walk up to the castle was steep. The views at the top made it worthwhile. In a nutshell, loved the place and would return in a heartbeat.

Lovely hotel in lovely little village! Gorgeous building from the outside and traditional on the inside of the bar area. Good sized rooms, clean and tidy. Wonderful food and the owners were lovely people, very welcoming. Great location for us to use as a base, went off exploring devils bridge and Elan valley, both within 45 mins drive. Would book again.

We chose the Castle Inn because it had a ground floor bedroom (not too common in pub accommodation). It's open as a pub only at weekends but all week it offers b&b with dinner as well, The room was spotless and we slept well on the two nights we stayed there. It's run by Ying who offers a wide choice of Thai and traditional dishes (the award winning meat pies are amazing). Another reason for choosing The Castle was its proximity to a station on the scenic Heart of Wales railway line. With a bit of timetable research (very necessary because the trains aren't very frequent) we managed an excellent day out. If you get off at Ammanford you have half an hour to have a pint in the Great Western pub which is right next to the station, before getting the return train back to Knucklas. The Castle Inn is an ideal base for anyone who enjoys scenic rail journeys

Really lovely stay. Room was well appointed and equipped, and the bedding of high quality and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant are in the original pub building, and it is very tastefully decorated, sympathetic to the original. Food was very lovely…..both dinner and breakfast. Service was very attentive and top notch. I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the Castle Inn, the room was clean and spacious with everything you could need. Ying took spectacular care of us, from her very friendly welcome, chatting with us, to her delicious cooking. We had an evening meal plus breakfast and it was all fantastic, and in lovely surroundings - the bar and dining area is full of character. And of course, the Inn itself is surrounded by stunning countryside.

I have just stayed here for 2 nights for work. From the moment I booked, Ying, the owner made me feel so welcome. Her and her partner vince were the perfect hosts. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend one of the award winning pies. I had the Duke pie and it was rammed from top to bottom with delicious chunky chunks of steak. I can see why they have recieved the silver award. The room was cosy and quiet with a super comfy huge bed. Keep up the great work Ying and I will be sure to book here again if I am back down your way. Thank you for a relaxed lovely stay.

A group of 6 of us booked four rooms for one night while we were exploring the area, and what a lovely experience it was. The owner, Ying, welcomed us and showed us to our rooms. Warm, cosy and spotless. We had a meal booked in the restaurant, and it is only open to residents in the winter. I wondered how this would work, but it was a lovely night. The log fire was lit, and we had the area next to that to ourselves: sofa and a table for 6 of us. The food was exceptional and we felt looked after. We relaxed on the sofa before and after the meal, and had a nice chat with Ying too. Breakfast was great the next morning too. Loved every moment!

We stayed for 2 nights whilst enjoying a day's rally experience at Phil Price Rally School nearby. Very comfortable room and bed, quiet and with lovely hosts - thanks Ying and Vince. The accommodation offers B&B with freshly cooked breakfast and bookable evening meal with varied A'la Carte options, which are brilliantly cooked by the lovely Ying. Perfect stay - thank you.
