The Plough Bicester

Disappointing It's expensive in comparison to other local places to stay. They took a £50 "deposit" supposedly for the mini bar claiming it will only be charged if the minibar is used. But, unlike other hotels who don't process the payment, it has been charged even though the mini bar wasn't used. Unlike other places I've stayed, no reply so far to my message asking where my refund is. ;(

A poor experience On arrival I was told that the kitchen wasn't open that night and I could get something to eat locally, I asked for a VAT receipt and was told I'd get that in the morning. I went doen for breakfast (which I'd paid for) in the morning, to find that everywhere was locked up. I tried again later and it was still locked up. I tried again at 8:30 and a couple of guys were there and they told me that they only open at 10am, despite their website saying that they open at 7am. I was working and needed to be on site, nearby for 9am so I left. I received an emailed receipt later in the day, the rate included breakfast! The internet didn't work, there was no kettle in the room (there was a coffee machine) and you had to move furniture to get to a plug point to charge your phone etc.

Very disappointed. Room was very tired, tried to be shabby chic, just shabby. When booking the free breakfast was a draw, it turned out to be in a cardboard box in the room, we turned it down. The room was clean and the staff were nice. Not worth the money by a long stretch.
