Arraya

We were lucky to come to Sare during the village festival so the whole town had a very lively, fun vibe. The hotel and restaurant are charming, and we loved the service! Our waiter was a lovely guy who studied English in Ireland. The food was very nice - beef with mashed potatoes - and so was the dessert. It felt very cosy and friendly. We will be back!

This is the second time I have stayed at Hotel Arraya and my husband and I absolutely loved it!. Location is great, within easy reach of the Pyrenees mountains and the coast. Food at the hotel is delicious - with additional restaurants close by (for variety) Monsieur and Madame Fagoaga are always hospitable and it's a delight to experience this authentic family hotel in the Basque country.

The hotel is meticulously decorated with a charming ambiance, excellent dining, and a lovely terrace. Unfortunately, my room was directly across from a bar that plays loud music until 2 a.m. This was especially disappointing as I had specifically requested a quiet room upon arrival. It felt rather careless, and based on the glowing reviews, I couldn’t help but feel like I was given the worst room in the hotel. The bed was unusually low, missing about a foot in height to look or feel normal, and the mattress was incredibly hard. It was, by far, the worst night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel in a long time. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t say this hotel treats solo travelers particularly well. They even removed the extra pillows I wasn’t using from the bed, which felt more comical than considerate

We had planed to stay in this hotel for two nights but left after one. The hotel has atmosphere, but the room we got was not welcoming, had no style and was hot. But we think that there are nicer rooms because when we look at the web site are the room much more cosy than the one we got. But, we had had stayed for the two nights planed becourse the town is fantastic and there is much to see in the suroundings if it hadn't been for the food. It was terrible. We had hoped for something else. This was our worst meal during our two weeks holiday. The owners are very friendly and have a fantastic goldmine in the fantastic house from the 17 centuary.

We stayed here on our hiking journey to San Sebastián as part of a pre booked walking holiday with Inn-travel. Bags of character in the hotel, dinner was absolutely incredible (the trout was beautiful) and service excellent. Very impressed and highly recommend!

This place is a jewel: beautiful, clean, relaxing, excellent service and food, in an idyllic setting. The hotel was very tastefully updated to today’s standards, the rooms are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious. In a charming town, with hiking right outside the door, and beaches 20 minutes away. It’s perfect.
