. Arrived after a long drive, just wanted to sleep. They give me room 515, I bring all my luggage up to my room, get unpacked, discover the safe doesn't work. They can't fix it because the engineer doesn't work on Tuesdays. So they offer me a new room, 511, I pack all my gear up and move. But the key doesn't work for 511, so back downstairs. They don't believe me, come back up to check and agree that it doesn't work. The lady said "the lock for 512 broke earlier this week". They give me room 411 on a lower floor. So now I have to go get a trolley from downstairs to get all my luggage in and out of lifts (there is only one lift so you have to wait for other people to go first. Room 411, there is a grim smell as soon as I open the door. I walk into the bathroom and realise my shoes are leaving footprints in the room, the carpet is soaked. And it's soaked with something that smells precisely like urine. Back downstairs for another room, and more shuffling, now I'm in 419. It has a safe that works and it doesn't smell of urine. Approx an hour spent faffing when all I wanted was to close my eyes. The staff were very nice and apologetic, but clearly something is wrong with their operational processes that a guest has to be checked in to 4 different rooms before he can be settled.
