Hotel Lola

My partner & I stayed here for one night in June before heading south for a wedding. Our original flight had been cancelled so we arrived a day later than planned, but the hotel was very accommodating & updated our booking prior to us making the journey. The hotel is set just off the main riverfront & is in a typical Bordeaux style. There is a charming, well stocked bar with comfortable indoor seating & casual tables & chairs outdoors. The stonework & decor oozes chic style & the staff are welcoming & friendly. They very kindly let us leave our bags until mid afternoon on our departure day & organised a taxi for us to meet the rest of our party. There is a choice of bread, pastries, fruit & hot & cold drinks. Lola is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful sights, independent shops, bars, cafes & restaurants which are a short walk, and the tram is moments away. Would we stay again? Absolutely!

The hotel is in a good location. Lovely bar and friendly people. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom doesn't offer much privacy via the frosted glass door so that's a negative for me. The major problem was the noise. The music blared on the first night until almost 2am rendering sleep impossible. If I'd known this in advance, I would definitely have chosen a different hotel as we only had 2 nights in Bordeaux. Coffee was excellent though so that helped after a restless night.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at Lola boutique hotel. We had an amazing time and I couldnt fault a single thing. Location is very central with lots of bars, restaurants and shopping within short distance. The hotel is located next to a beautiful cathedral. The hotel building is beautiful and the interior design is incredible from the bar area through to the rooms. Attention to detail in the decor all through is quirky yet extremely tasteful. The staff are brilliant. They are very good and passionate about their jobs. The bar was hopping on the Saturday night and there was a dj. The owner is larger than life and great fun. We felt very welcome in this hotel. We will definitely return.

Lovely boutique hotel in central Bordeaux. Had 1 weeks lovely holiday and great time in this lovely city. We hadn’t realised when booking the world rugby was on and this caused some noisy nights which the hotel rectified by moving us to another room. The French win was decisive over Italy and therefore a lot of celebrations.

Very very noisy disco music into the night while trying to sleep! Unnecessarily noisy and completely unacceptable. We wouldn’t have minded had it stopped earlier or been slightly melodic but it was just bumpy noise! The whole hotel must have heard it they didn’t have any consideration for others in the building or nearby.

Booked on the hotel website with "pay at the property" option. Upon checkout, they informed me that the accommodation amount was already charged to the card I used to reserve, and when I asked why, they had no explanation. I then wrote an email to the hotel to share feedback, especially to avoid that they do the same with future customers. They didn't answer me at all. The lack of an answer is in line with the snobbish attitude that some of the hotel personnel had during our stay. Besides this negative experience: PROs 1. Central location 2. Historical building 3. Nice style: retro with touches of modernity, quite hipster 4. Some members of the staffare nice CONs 1. Some of the personnel were unpleasant (i.e. snobbish, unhelpful, seemed bothered by our presence) 2. No elevator, no PWD friendly 3. No mini bar, refrigerator, safe 4. No privacy in the restroom, which has a transparent door facing the bedroom 5. Very small bedroom

What a find! Ten out of ten to whoever designed this place. Within a gorgeous old building, stonework everywhere, this is beautiful Bordeaux boutique. Quirky bar downstairs with a welcoming kir and lovely staff one of whom willingly carried our very heavy bag to the top floor - three stories. Stunning room, beautifully designed with view of facing Basilique St Michel and the square below. Great location for all sights and nearby parking. We hope to return!

We stayed here for a bit of a treat in July, sadly only one night but what a spectacular hotel! We will definitely be back. The service was fabulous really friendly and welcoming. We stayed in room 22 and what a view! The bar was busy in the evening but in a good way and even though we went to bed early we couldn’t hear a thing outside. About a 10 minute walk to the centre & 15 from the train station Just superb!

Beautiful old building with character. Very nice cafe/cocktail lounge as lobby. Staff were very responsive and kind. Big issue I missed is that there is no elevator and we had heavy bags. Big lift up two flights. Room was small but comfy. The large window did not open for fresh air so got stuffy and humid overnight. No shampoo in the shower. Shower gel was actually hand soap so not good on hair.
