I was not going to rate this place as high initially, it is a bit quirky and check in is rather strange with a restaurant manager person checking you in in an offhand matter. But it met our needs and honestly was the best nights rest we have had all week. Nothing fancy but all you need for a night. Great coffee shop next door.

The good stuff - a well equipped, spacious room with a good shower. Amazing view over the water with good walking. Free, easy parking and a cracking cafe next door for breakfast. The less good - neither the door to the building nor that to our room had functioning locks. This being Iceland, perhaps not a major issue but a great leap of faith required when heading out for the day.

What a wonderful old house, we loved the cosy and nordic design in our room which was directly facing the water. The room had access to a little lounge area with a super comfortable couch and an equally great view. We felt very much at home after our long flight from South Africa. The Englendingavík Homestay is the perfect location to rest for a night before traveling further north to Snæffelsness. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, we would have loved to explore the food and lovely interior.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The property is on the water and it was very nice to walk around. The restaurant was also very good!

Englendingavík is a small guesthouse on top of a restaurant, but it wasn't noisy at all. The room was cozy and clean, we had a private shower and a kettle. The kitchen was great, but you had to walk outside a bit to get there.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cozy. The only disappointments were that the hot tub was drained and the restaurant was not open. I’m not sure if this is standard in the winter or just due to covid.
