Highly Recommend this Hotel. Very welcoming staff and lovely surroundings. My wife and I spent a long weekend here with our Springer Spaniel "Bailey" on 5th - 8th January 2024. Mia, Emily, Karen, Ally, Gemma, Liv and Tamsyn were perfect hosts, making us feel like we were part of the Welly Hotel family, and not just a guest. Bailey, who was spoilt rotten, thoroughly enjoyed the attention and his little gift bag, such a lovely little unexpected extra. Top marks also for the delicious food available. I am a tad fussy about how my steaks are cooked, but Paul (chef) nailed it and produced an excellent 3 courses for us on Friday evening. Our room was clean and well presented, as was the whole hotel. You can definitely feel the warmth and charm that comes with staying in a place that was originally built in the 1500s. Thank You so much everyone mentioned above, for a wonderful weekend and we will see you all again soon

We had a wonderful time at The Wellington in Boscastle. The people were lovely, the food fantastic, and our tower room very cute. I was amazed by the British Design of the hotel - it was very authentic. The hotel is perfectly located in a small town surrounded by overwhelming nature and a lot of magic (The Museum of witchcraft, crystal stores, etc). I'd love to come back on the day. ... and I loved the fluffy cushions.

We stayed in one of the apartments in the water mill, which is opposite the main hotel. Huge main room with kitchen/dining and lounge. Cosy, very comfortable double room and nice large bathroom (there was another bedroom with bunk beds if needed). All of the staff were excellent, there was a good menu and the food was great. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

A beautiful old hotel we have enjoyed visiting over the years but unfortunately we had a disappointing evening this time. Our party of 8 had a very slow evening meal with no communication from staff over potential waiting times or problems. The meals were tasty but some were not hot. We were however refunded some of our bill at the end of the evening.

The restaurant seating was a little strange. All the hanging pictures had been removed from the wall. The staff were great. The food was good. 5 stars for the steak. 3 stars for the whiting. Parking was poor. Got it if you were lucky. We were lucky.

We loved this historic hotel. Our turret room was big and the bed huge and comfortable. There were bathrobes and a good shower. plus comfortable chairs. We slept soundly. The included breakfast was excellent in a lovely airy room. Fresh croissants and coffee in a cafetiere accompanied our full Cornish. Having had an excellent meal in the restaurant the previous night we were not surprised by the good food. All the staff were great and really friendly, offering advice on the area and where to go next. Special shout out to Karen who was so helpful. Will definitely return.

So, so, so disappointed. This was our favourite Sunday lunch venue and we used to visit regularly through the summer as we have a caravan nearby. We loved it so much that we decided to take a 1.5hour each way run over there for a wander and lunch. They have changed the format from a 2 course Sunday lunch for a fixed price to a general menu which wasn’t a massive problem as we figured the food would be the same. It wasn’t… why, why, why have you changed the pork belly that you used to serve that was moist and cooked to perfection to a dry, unappetising roll? The Yorkshire puddings were dry, the gravy tasteless and the amount of fennel in the red cabbage was revolting, it tainted everything it touched. Did mention it to the waitress and to be fair, she offered to bring more veg but it was too late. Service was good, hence the 3 review score but the price hikes do not reflect in either the quality of produce or the poor taste and portion size. Apologies, but will not be back and I’m gutted.

Extreamly average food for a grand building, A very bright bar area takes away any charm it might once of had, it looked very clean and the staff were pleasant enough ,, It was pretty empty, apart from some hotel guests, the food was so average ive forgetten what we had, i know it was £80 for 1 starter & 2 mains & 2 drinks. £1.60 for a splash of lemnade into a wine spritzer is taking the p*ss. No wonder pubs are closing;

A stay in this hotel lifted me up after my terrible experience from Union hotel in Penzance.... The Wellington Hotel's staff was absolutely amazing, took my luggage upstairs which was on 2nd floor so, very helpful and everything was nice and clean. A breakfast - wide offer, nice and tasty cooked breakfast, wide offer of continental b-fast. I can highly recommend this hotel to anybody!
