The stay at the Guest House Tarist was an unexpected dream. Slimane, the very kind owner and expert traveler, picked us up at the airport together with other guests of all ages (families with small children, young couples and elderly adventurers with whom we immediately bonded). When we arrived at the guest house, absorbed in a dreamlike atmosphere, we were served an excellent dinner (probably the best you will eat in Algeria), with herb couscous, shorba and mint tea and... a secret touch that you will have to guess. The following days (three for us) were full of visits: departure in the morning with Slimane's minibus, visit (guided and not) to the idyllic villages of the Mzab valley, at the gates of the Sahara, lunch out and return for dinner. With all the delicacy possible, Slimane was a true master in reconciling the programs of all the guests (about ten), who arrived on different days, to ensure that no one visited the same place twice. My boyfriend and I let ourselves be guided by his kindness and were delighted, as were our fellow adventurers, met in the guest house. On the third evening, we took a taxi to the airport and reluctantly left the Gite Tarist, but not before enjoying a last delicious dinner accompanied by local musicians and our new friends, with dances and songs full of emotions.
