B&B Hotel Bourges 1

I Am aware of the fact that this is a budget hotel and the service level one can expect. In this case however, our low expectations proved to be to high. The budget mentioned, doesn't seem to apply to the room rates, but to the amount of time and money this company invests in operating this hotel. Hospitality of the staff members differs widely, all the way from very pleasant to as rude as a frenchman only pictured in a film. I didn't know the stereotypical rude frenchman really existed but they do, and they work here. There is absolutely no ambiance in the reception area what so ever. For this level of hotel this isn't very much of a problem, it would have been nice but one can't expect this. Full red flags however when you are passed the reception area on the stairs leading to the rooms! Pictures of insects that absolutely 100% match the description of cockroaches on posters that say that while these creatures do live in your room and look like cockroaches, they are not cockroaches. They promise... The 4 pax room is absolutely cramped, being a 2 pax room with an extra bunk bed shoved into it. The bed seemed clean but the room is just plain filthy and worn down. The (hopefully) clean towels were scatered through the room and bathroom. The bathroom itself was dirty, flies kept coming in through a hole in the wall, and there was a build up of dirt and grime. Absolutely discusting. Don't expect a four star experience when you only pay for two, but stay away from this hotel. Or get your tetanus vaccination first.

Convenient and clean

Bed and linen very comfortable, the room was very clean although quite small, had to duck to go round the bed so as not to bang your head on the television! The bathroom was clean but a little tired looking, grouting discoloured. Overall though very comfortable and clea.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times on way way to the South. It is right off the motorway so very convenient. there is 24 hour access if you arrive late, so no banging on the door for the night porter! The rooms are extremley clean and beds comfortable, great value for money.

Good reception English well spoken & very knowledgeable man Rooms above the ground floor could do of being better insulated against noise whilst persons are walking around
