The Borough Lancaster

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently on our first visit to Lancaster and can’t recommend it highly enough. On afternoon arrival we were warmly welcomed in the bar area and had a couple of local beers. Lunch was in the beer garden area, service was quick despite being busy and our wraps and sandwiches were very tasty. Our room was in a separate annex of the hotel and was clean, spacious, comfortable and had its own small outdoor space which was perfect for our spaniel. After a walk round town we booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal which was great value. I can recommend the tomahawk gammon steak- absolutely top class! Service was again excellent and a mention for Beth whose service in the bar and restaurant was first class, very friendly and ensured that we will definitely return.

I can’t say enough good things about The Borough - check in was easy , staff were so friendly and helpful , room was perfect , food in the restaurant was superb - everything during my stay went amazingly - can’t thank them enough for the wonderful stay I enjoyed Thank you very much , I will definitely be back when I travel down this way again

The Borough Hotel is a best choice to stay in Lancaster, whether on business or visiting the historic city of Lancaster out of interest. Centrally situated, the Georgian Hotel has a very good restaurant, although the breakfast included offer is not available for third party bookings, such as through *******. Still, the very good breakfasts on offer in the Restaurant are not very expensive. The staff are lovely and most helpful. Lancaster is a student city and the young people enhance the vibrant live music availability in the local hostelries of the city. Everything is in easy walking distance, making Lancaster an excellent choice for a short break for the not so young as well as those who also like to potter about the numerous shops and eateries in the commercial streets and arcades adorning the city centre. Of some note is the impressive Georgian architecture which adorns much of the City. Good choice all round.

The photos don't do this gorgeous place justice! Set on a quiet, historical square, it's got a feeling of comfortable decadence. I stayed one night and had breakfast. From arrival to leaving, staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable. The food is truly excellent and the room - room 5 - was utterly luxurious. A little tricky if you have mobility problems, stairs up to the room then stairs within the room to the bathroom, but the vintage gorgeousness makes up for it. Huge thanks to the staff for helping me with bags, tweaking my breakfast order perfectly and generally being like a home from home (but much posher!) I hope I need to come back again, this will be my first port of call.

Friends were staying at the hotel and we joined them for dinner. They were fulsome in their praise of their room, the service, and the breakfast in particular. Our evening meal was exceptional, and our experience was greatly enhanced by the professional and personable Reece. Recommend the Lancashire cheese and red onion pie. Thank you for persuading me, Reece! We wouldn't hesitate to stay and/or dine here should we be in the area again.

My twin brother and I were exploring around this part of the city when we decided to drop by The Borough Pub,been here before on previous holidays to this fascinating city, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit to here. A great looking pub, interior is superb, multi roomed, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We had a study of their real ale's which I must say I was impressed with, in the end we both opted to have pale ale's from Hawkshead Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, golden pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Borough Pub we had a great time. The Borough Pub is easy to locate on Dalton Square. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Lancaster.
