KKristymaomaoStaying at Xieshan Jingshe, nestled at the foot of Fanjing Mountain, felt just like going back to my grandma's house when I was a child.
Stepping off the car, crossing a small bridge, and entering the courtyard, there was an immediate sense of familiarity and peace. A babbling stream flowed in front, while silent mountains loomed behind. The courtyard was lush with greenery, exuding the scent of damp earth and the passage of time. Moss slowly spread along the flagstone path, and bamboo shadows swayed gently. Koi fish glided serenely in the pond, and the bell by the entrance chimed softly in the breeze, making you instinctively lighten your steps. This wasn't some contrived 'Chinese style,' but a place truly lived in.
Their attentiveness was subtle but profound. Knowing roughly when we'd arrive, they'd already warmed the room, even the comforter was toasty. A wisp of sandalwood incense was slowly burning, and the tea set was neatly arranged, as if awaiting its owner's return. The moment I opened the door, my heart felt at ease.
The furnishings inside reflected a restrained and tasteful Chinese aesthetic. Carved wooden window lattices, soaring double-leaf Chinese doors, and soft, warm lighting ā each item seemed to have stepped out of an earlier time. The collected artifacts and calligraphies were not flashy, yet each quietly told its own story.
For dinner, we decided to stay in rather than venture out, opting for a 'home-cooked meal.' Upon hearing our request, the auntie immediately sprang into action ā she went to another part of the property, caught a chicken, and stewed a fresh pot of chicken soup. Then she dug fresh fiddlehead ferns from the vegetable patch, still carrying the aroma of earth. There were also her homemade salted duck eggs, not overly salty, yet oily with just one bite.
The firewood slowly burned, the soup in the pot gently simmered, and the aroma of the food gradually filled the air. That scent wasn't the refined fragrance of a restaurant, but the long-missed, comforting taste of home.
This isn't just a 'chic' guesthouse; itās far more touching than many of them. It's like a well-preserved slice of life ā quiet, authentic, and full of warmth.
This is a place one will remember and want to return to for another short stay.

åÆåÆęčI was exploring Guizhou and decided to hike Fanmingshan. Compared to others, this was a reasonable price and distance to the scenic area. The immediate surrounding village åÆØę²äø had some restaurants and stores (although I walked up the road to eat) and was 40 min walk to the entrance. A few other lodging choices are in more remote sections of the river, with only 1 or 2 store fronts or none at allļ¼while a bit cheaper may have no easy transportation or drive options.
I was the only person staying and got upgraded, and enjoyed their light breakfast in the morning. The room was well furnished and had a built-in mattress heater which was excellent in the winter. The owner also helped drive me to the entrance and also arrange the 35 rmb shuttle back to Tongren HSR. All in all excellent value and hospitality!

GGuest UserThe B&B I carefully selected is great: the small building is located at the foot of the mountain. The architectural style combines modern simplicity without losing the local folk customs. It is backed by green mountains and surrounded by swaying bamboos.
There is a swimming pool in front of the door, and there is a small bridge and flowing water when you go out. There is a treasure ājelly-coloredā water area a hundred meters away, which is convenient for children to play in the water after climbing the mountain. Adults can sit on the rocks in the shade and dip their feet in the water. In the stream, all worries and fatigue disappear. When you return to the B&B, the owner will cut watermelon, make tea, and prepare special handmade summer sparkling drinks.
The creek is rising, the breeze is blowing on my face, the moon is setting and the sky is filled with stars, that's probably it.

RRaghunath C G NairAmazing! Fascinating! Fanjingshan was the final stop of our memorable 10-day tour of Guizhou Province, and we truly could not have chosen a better place to conclude our journey. We felt genuinely blessed to stay at this lovely guesthouse for three nights. From the very beginning, the owner Mr. Zhang Haotian and his family made us feel completely at home; they were warm, engaging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.
The rooms are tastefully designed and thoughtfully laid out, perfectly sized for comfort. Our room offered a soothing view of the river, along with a private balcony; an ideal spot to relax with your favourite tea or coffee. The modern touches were impressive too, especially the high-tech sensor toilet, which added a pleasant surprise. The three-storey guesthouse is equipped with an elevator, a thoughtful convenience for guests with heavy luggage or those who may find climbing stairs challenging.
Dinner, lovingly cooked by the family, was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that reflected both their hospitality and culinary skill. Every meal felt homely and satisfying. We only wish we had taken more and better photographs of the guesthouse. Without a doubt, this is one place we will return to.
As for the enchanting Fanjing Mountain itself, the owner drove us to the scenic area entrance. He even offered to pick us up later, but we chose to walk back instead, enjoying the cool climate. Fanjing Mountain is magical in its own right. The steep cable car ride to the summit, which takes over 20 minutes, was an experience in itself, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges stretching endlessly around us. At the top stands the age-old Buddhist temple, serene and awe-inspiring, perfectly harmonising with its natural surroundings.
We loved the guesthouse, we are very grateful to Mr. Zhang and his family for their kindness, and deeply thankful for the unforgettable experience at Fanjing Mountain. It was the perfect ending to a remarkable journey.

Service: The owner's service is excellent; they proactively offer pick-up and drop-off services and provide hiking tips, which are very helpful. However, you can no longer board the sightseeing bus directly at the station; you still need to queue outside the main gate in the morning. It's more suitable for tourists who haven't managed to book the earliest entry time. Regardless of the booking time, the owner can take you into the park as one of the first groups, avoiding most tour groups and quickly getting to Fanjingshan.

GGuest UserThe hotel was easy to find, with parking right out front. The room was spacious and bright, and the bedding was spotlessly clean. The bed was large enough, and there were two sinks in the bathroom. The shower water was great, and they even provided bathrobes and a shoehorn. It had a smart toilet and a smart speaker (Xiao Du). The ashtray was quite classy, and there's an elevator. The hotel itself is elegant and stylish. My stay was a perfect ten. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Fanjingshan was a key stop on our Guizhou road trip with our family of three. Originally planned for only one night, we decided to extend our stay due to the comfort of Wild Lodge! After carefully selecting two nights on Ctrip, the riverside Wild Lodge did not disappoint.
āØ Surprising Upgrade and Heartwarming Service: Arriving around 6 PM, the owner warmly upgraded us to the largest room free of charge, instantly dispelling our travel fatigue.
The next day, for our hike, the owner thoughtfully prepared a hot bowl of pork bone soup noodles for breakfast and provided free transportation to the scenic area entrance ā convenient and heartwarming.
šļø Perfect Weather, Another Haven After the Hike: We were incredibly lucky on the day of our hike; the Golden Summit under the clear sky was breathtaking, and we successfully conquered both summits!
After descending the mountain, a simple phone call later, and the owner again provided free transportation back āhomeā ā a truly touching gesture.
š Leisurely Riverside Fun, Pleasant Moments: After a short rest back at the guesthouse, we took the children to play in the clear river in front of the door. The babbling water and children's laughter created the most relaxing and pleasant moments of the trip.
šÆ Summary: The guesthouse not only boasts a convenient location (near the riverbank), but also impeccable service (complimentary upgrade, thoughtful breakfast, multiple free shuttles) and a comfortable environment, making our trip to Fanjingshan even more wonderful. Highly recommended for families, it's a trustworthy and welcoming haven.

Itās an old hotel, majority of the room are old, only small quantity is slightly renovated. Bathroom is not clean, towels has smell. I donāt sleep peacefully in this room. I check out and move to another hotel.

We opted for this hotel for the gorgeous courtyard type of layout. The hotel deserves the attention and my lengthy review as the architect/ designer has such an exquisite taste which shows off in the smallest details. The select of burl wood trims with marble patterns, stylish lighting fixturesā¦
Rooms are spacious and full of technology. Bathroom with heat floor and even ironized glass which offers instant privacy with a click of a button.
This hotel alone is worth couple nights of stay where one could plan a getaway from the city life and fully immerse themselves in the hotelās garden trails.
This hotel is great for tourists who prioritize monetary value as Itās essentially a five star luxury resort for a fraction of the price.
However, for those who enjoy a slower pace and a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy tourisy area it offers more.
This hotel had become an integral part of my spiritual retreat escaping city and exploring the FANJING mountain area.

GGuest Userto be honest, This hotel is definitely good value for money. Compared to hotels near shops, I prefer accommodations that are some distance away from Fanjing Mountain. One of the reasons is that if you want to walk around shops or go shopping at night, you will be disturbed and forcefully sold to by many people.
The hotel provides many services including transportation to the entrance of Fanjing Mountain and breakfast. This is a very thoughtful service and I am very satisfied with it.
There are many restaurants near the hotel, and many locals dine there.
Choosing 3D2N is definitely the first choice. Going up and down the mountain consumes a lot of energy. After we came down the mountain, we went straight to the hotel and slept for 14 hours. The only downside to being near Fanjing Mountain is that it is very far to other attractions. Make sure you can catch a car or bus back to the hotel before nightfall.
