This hotel should be closed: poor customer service at reception, dirty rooms and extremely dirty bathrooms, many things are broken, spider webs in the restaurant, dirty windows which were not cleaned since years, the restaurant smells after old fat, furniture is third or fourth hand and worn down. The positives: staff in restaurant is friendly and responsive, the location is great.

My wife and I had made reservations for a three night package at the Hotel Stadt Breisach in the Black Forest over Christmas 2023. A big disappointment. Check in went smoothly and we were told at reception that for the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner we had to be seated punctually at 6:30. We went for drinks in the bar at 5 p.m. and then went to the restaurant for our dinner. Both were good. Next morning (Christmas Day) we went to find out where lunch would be served, which we were prepared to pay for as it was not included in the package, only to find that there was no lunch served, the bar did not open until 5:pm and was only open from Thursday to Monday. The hotel did not offer lunch but coffee and cake would be available from 2 p.m. And that was it. We had unknowingly reserved a stay at a hotel that served no more than one slice of cake and a cup of coffee between breakfast and dinner. That evening dinner was OK but nothing to write home about: salmon fillet served on a mountain of spinach, and tagliatella. Next day I asked my wife if she would prefer to cut our stay short and head for home right away. Her face lit up and “Yes please” was her answer. On our way to breakfast I stopped off at Reception to cancel our remaining day. We had packed before breakfast so it wasn’t long before we were on our way back to Luxembourg. We stopped for lunch at our favourite Tandoori restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. After we arrived home I went on to the hotel’s website but no mention was made of the bar only opening in the evening and being closed two days a week, nor that there would be no lunch served on the days we were booked in. Had there been we would have quickly moved on to other hotels before we made our reservation. All in all, a big disappointment

I recently spend 4 nights at the Hotel Stadt Breisach. Even though it was built in the 70s, the design and architecture of the hotel are great (I read it received an award). The view is fantastic and the location of the hotel is ideal for exploring this area, Kaiserstuhl, Schwarzwald and Vogesen. However, some rooms and hallways are really old-fashioned, crumbling and urgently need upgrading. Really used, old fixtures, furniture & carpets, no minibar/coffee facilities (I believe this is in progress). Really nice new pool, albeit a bit cold and a nice sun terrace. We did not use the sauna area but it looked really well done. It would have been nice had they offered a more extensive wellness-program (only massages), advertising it as a wellness hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful and the bar (open Thursday to Sunday only??) looked inviting. The restaurant was good, the terrace is beautiful. This hotel could be a real gem.

Die positiven Feedbacks können wir nicht verstehen. Positiv: das Frühstücksbuffet und die sauberen Betten. In der Lobby stehen abgewetzte Stühle und der Tisch sieht grauslig aus mit den vielen Getränkeringen drauf. Das abgenutzte Sofa im Zimmer unter einer Pferdedecke versteckt gehört schon lange entsorgt. Auf dem Zimmer ein Miniferseher, kein nutzbarer Safe, kein Kühlschrank, keine Teeecke. Ein Dimmer für eine nicht vorhandene Stehlampe. Das Grauen jedoch ist im Bad zu finden: fleckig verlegte Bodenplatten, verdreckte, verkalkte, verrostete, abgenutzte Armaturen, Schimmel und Rost bei der Duschscheibe inkl. Wir haben pro Nacht knapp 200 Euro bezahlt um in einem ungepflegten Hotelzimmer zu landen. Die Zimmer werden nur alle zwei Tage geputzt….. eine Schande bei diesem Preis. … und überall schmutzige und im Aussenbereich von Spinnennetzen übersähten Fenster. Wir können dieses Hotel beim besten Willen nicht weiterempfehlen.

L'hôtel est bien situé en haut la ville (10 min. de marche). Il méritera bientôt une rénovation. Personnel de réception OK mais au restaurant, bof ! Les chambres sont correctes sans mini-bar, propreté et linge propre mais chambres faites tous les 2 jours. A 1 km à vol d'oiseau de la France, aucun poste TV en français. La demi-pension est très quelconque (mais PD très bien). SPA bien et propre mais... payant

Wir waren nur für einen Kurzaufenthalt dort für 3 Nächte, vor allem das Essen war sehr lecker, auch das Buffet am Morgen super mit sehr viel Auswahl. Zimmer ordentlich, sicher nicht der modernste Stil aber für uns tipptopp mit Aussicht auf den Rhein. Wellnessanlage ist noch ziemlich neu und schön, auch der Pool recht gross mit div. Liege/Sitzmöglichkeiten ringsum. Wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben.

Service war größtenteils freundlich und bemüht allerdings bekam man das Gefühl, dass jede Servicekraft in der Ausbildung ist, viele Dinge gingen schief oder unter. Trotzdem waren alle sehr freundlich! Der Badezimmerboden im Zimmer war klebrig, und das ganze Zimmer war nicht wirklich gesäubert und roch muffig. Der Wellnessbereich war trotz seiner kleinen Größe sehr schön und modern. Allerdings waren es zu wenig Liegefläche und der Bereich war nicht durchgehend geöffnet obwohl er das an diesem Tag hätte sein müssen. Alles in allem kein schlechtes Hotel - benötigt aber Sinnvollle Verbesserungen um wieder für alle Besucher attraktiv zu sein.
