This is an old, historic building in Bristol city center, probably the best-located hotel there. It's right next to the Cathedral, a short walk to the harbor, and there's a bus stop right outside with direct service to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Our initial check-in experience was great. The interior decoration is splendid, especially the central courtyard. Hazar at the front desk was very enthusiastic and efficient; she helped us check the ZEZ charges for our vehicle and offered some helpful travel advice.
However, the bed in our room was very uncomfortable. The wooden panel above the door, covering the air conditioning vent, was broken, and a lot of dust would come out whenever the AC was turned on (see the last picture).
The service attitude of the breakfast staff was a stark contrast to the front desk. Only the chef making omelets was decent. The selection of cold cuts was slightly better than other places, but there were fewer hot food options.

We had a wonderful stay, and it was such a lovely surprise to receive an upgrade to a Royal Suite!
The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean and incredibly spacious. Having a separate living room with a large TV was an added bonus and made the suite feel even more comfortable and luxurious.
Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and all the staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming and professional. I was particularly impressed with how clean and well-maintained the rooms and corridors were.
The hotel parking was also very convenient. The multi-storey car park is spacious, and at £17 for 24 hours, we thought this was very reasonable for such a central location.
The location is fantastic — the hotel is right next to Bristol Cathedral, making it very convenient for exploring.
We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Miller & Carter, the hotel's breakfast area. There was a great variety of options, with plenty to choose from.
Overall, we had a beautiful and memorable stay. We really appreciated the upgrade and the wonderful hospitality throughout our visit.

The Bristol Marriott Royal boasts an excellent location, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Our four-poster bed suite was spacious and charmingly old-fashioned, with well-maintained facilities and spotless cleanliness. The staff were warm and attentive. Overall, our stay was extremely satisfying, and I highly recommend it for families traveling with children.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right in Bristol city center, next to the City Hall and a church. We arrived at 12:30 PM, and since a room was available, they kindly allowed us to check in early. The English breakfast was quite good, especially the roasted button mushrooms, which were delicious. However, I have a major complaint: this Marriott doesn't have air conditioning, and the room windows are sealed shut, meaning they can't be opened at all. To make matters worse, the room was incredibly airtight. Even after borrowing a small fan from the hotel, it was still uncomfortably hot and stuffy, and I didn't get a good night's sleep.

A very pleasant stay with Marriott, as always. Sizable room for a group of 4. The breakfast is exceptionally good. Central location allows us to travel between U of Bristol and Watershed easily.
