Harbour Towne Inn on the Waterfront

Having read all the amazing reviews we set off for this place in the hope they had a room despite them not replying to my email. We arrived and had chance to see the room before reserving so it was kind of our fault for going ahead. Room was fine, bed comfortable, historic but also very tired, tiny bathroom. There were lights shining through the bedroom windows all night due to inadequate blinds, the curtain rail was hanging off the wall so didn't like to try that as well, as such getting to sleep was a challenge. No onsite staff in an evening so definitely an Airbnb feel as opposed to a homely B&B. Breakfast was nice enough but not amazing, maybe we'd been spoilt by our previous location in Bar Harbor, it was crazy busy and over crowded at breakfast which is served at 8.30am. Lady who checked us in was nice and the location in Boothbay Harbor great. Tv was good but wouldn't connect to the internet properly as the wifi was very slow. Ground floor room very quirky/ historic but needs some TLC, as does the outside of the building which is very tired looking, and in no way deserving of 5/5. As such I'm somewhat bemused by my fellow Trip advisors, I can only assume the other rooms are far superior.

Steph was very helpful. Two rooms are on the ground floor with no stairs…otherwise lots of stairs. Breakfast was good. Parking is tight!

This is a very charming Inn that is very walkable to all the shops, restaurants and waterfront activities. Stephanie, the owner, along with her staff do everything possible to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. She even made a small plate of GF cookies for one guest! I LOVED Rm 4, with its balcony overlooking the harbor. Stephanie also cooks a fantastic breakfast buffet and is very responsive to dietary needs, including GF & vegetarian options. She made a fresh quiche and veggie frittata each day, plus muffins and fresh berries. Since breakfast is served 8:30-9:30, there are plenty of opportunities to chat with other guests if desired. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! I’ll be back!! Thank you Stephanie et al😊

On balance, a good experience. Good Location. However it is not inexpensive and some things should be considered. Here's a few things to note: Very small bathroom with mini bar of soap & mini shampoo. Had to buy my own at drugstore. No bottled water in the room No bathrobes only 1 small trash can in the bathroom Ask if your room must be accessed by 2 or 3 flights of stairs. Luggage movement difficult. Very limited electrical outlets for charging multiple devices. Limited, tight parking spaces. Don't be late for the 8:30 AM (sharp) breakfast or it may be cold or gone.

Owner, Stefanie, and her gracious staff, have rewritten the book on Bed and Breakfast Hospitality! From the freshly baked cookies that greet you upon arrival to the well appointed, beautifully decorated rooms, your visit is sure to exceed your expectations. Breakfast changes daily with many fresh, healthy, and true to New England options. The bedding is so comfortable, I had my best sleeps while on vacation here. Situated in a quieter part of Boothbay Harbor, be sure to catch a concert in the Opera House across the street! I'm already booking at The Harbour Towne Inn for a return next summer! We had a very clean, bright, and comfortable room. We sat on the porch in the evening and enjoyed watching the gulls. The innkeeper is so pleasant and prepared a lovely breakfast.
