The Fish Hotel

I booked a stay in the Hilly Huts for my partner's 40th birthday and although I knew it looked great, the Fish exceeded my expectations! From the minute we arrived, the beautiful setting was a great start. A little while after we checked in, we got a call to make sure everything was ok, which is a simple but underrated touch. They had put birthday chocolates in the room and a lovely note and wine gift, and the hut itself was gorgeous. It's so beautifully decorated and the quality is clear immediately. We had dinner booked in the Hook restaurant, and to say we were blown away would be an understatement. The food is absolutely incredible and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they've just nailed the details at every step. From the doggy bath, the gorgeous food and wine, the idyllic setting and the fact that they made sure we had Oat milk in the room and fantastic selection of drinks and snacks, it was just amazing. We will definitely be back!

Agree with myriad reviewers that the grounds and accommodations are resolutely lovely — full stop. A handful of constructive observations. Properties that host retreats as well as private guests routinely struggle not to prioritize one over the other. This property felt like the larger groups got the lion’s share of the attention. We love dogs. But dogs don’t need to be welcomed in *every* corner of the property, particularly while eating. Because the property is remote, the food available on site (particularly at non-meal hours) needs to be something far more than burgers and chips. There is definitely a staffing or training problem with the restaurant/bar as orders routinely took insanely long or were forgotten. Easily fixed, but given the number of reviews mentioning it, it’s perhaps something that needs a bit more focus. Last, our room was very large and probably not easy to clean. The housekeeping staff does an *amazing* job of keeping things literally spotless. Amazing really.

How do I start….., Fabulous surroundings I had knee injury and they really accommodated me as I could not use stairs. Our suite was very very clean doggy treats for our boy Lovely mini bar !! Lounges and bars fab especially the outside seating areas amongst the trees. Food fabulous including the snacks and the fish in the restaurant exceptional Can’t rate this place high enough We will be back

Stayed in the Coach house...recommend room 24....very large bedroom and bathroom with option of 6ft or twinbeds. Lovely view. Very peaceful, bed and bed linen very comfortable. Good hearty breakfast. The vegetarian sausage and bacon much appreciated!

Lovely stay at the fish hotel. We stayed in a hilly hut , beautiful view overlooking broadway, delicious breakfast, lovely meal in the hook, staff were attentive and friendly. Special touches throughout make this a fantastic stay and one we’d definitely return to. The hot tub and intercom was a bonus

We went to the fish hotel for my birthday celebration and what an incredible experience it was! The staff were very welcoming and attentive, they looked after us very well. We stayed in a hideaway cabin and we were blown away with the size, design and luxurious feel. The little extras really made this experience so special and we will most definitely be revisiting in the future.
