Fletcher Duinhotel Hotel Burgh Haamstede

Price-quality this was a good deal for me. Fletcher deal from €76/night. Spacious room, nice surroundings, but breakfast not great. Restaurant not tested other restaurants in the area. Pets welcome, huge plus.

Dogs are no longer allowed, so after years of staying here, they can no longer stay here. We thought it was a nice hotel in the past, the rooms are spacious and there is a nice terrace at the restaurant with a view of the glider airfield. Breakfast is simple but sufficient.

We had a very nice suite with a mega balcony. The building used to be the tower of a small airfield in front of it, which is still used for gliding. Quiet neighborhood, just outside Burgh. Too bad we had so much rain to fully enjoy it, but that's the season. I think in the summer it's a lot of fun with gliders there. Now mainly walked in the area, beautiful lighthouse nearby, drove around and visited the Strao, a very nice horse event. For delicious boluses (a must in Zeeland!) we made a trip to both Burgh and Renesse, and of course the beach and sea. Staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows very good. Sanitary facilities good but I was missing a shelf. Food was included in the package, if you want to eat at a certain place, make a reservation at the bar in advance. In our opinion, the food itself was a bit overpriced and mediocre and feedback to the kitchen did not yield anything in return. Wines are fine, desserts are great. No cheese board on the menu, nor regional products such as bolus liqueur, Zeeland kneaders, or boluses.

Hotel with extraordinarily large but poorly organised, 30m2 rooms and the bed was 20cm from the wall, the huge bathroom with shower and bathtub but without support. Strange, very quiet but with large French windows that open directly onto a car park, with cars 1 meter from the room. Excellent breakfast and very good restaurant.

Upon arrival, the hotel already looks cozy, even more so upon entering. What friendly, enthusiastic staff! We had a room on the first floor, clean and large. French doors with a French balcony: a bar for the door. Nice, spacious view over the glider area. Okay, the bathroom door could be repaired, namely holes at the bottom, but otherwise fine. Good beds. Wide choice for breakfast and dinner was delicious. Renovation was still in full swing, painters were still working and remains of the renovation were still visible in the hallway, but not disturbing. In short, we had a great stay and would certainly repeat it. And it's great that dogs are no longer welcome, because what dogs those Germans have with them!

We often stay in a hotel in between. This time the Duinhotel. Last year we tried the Strandhotel, located 200 meters away. We wanted to compare because the Duinhotel gets a higher rating. We are curious because we are very enthusiastic about the Strandhotel. To start on a positive note. The welcome on Saturday afternoon, January 15, 22 at 3 p.m. is warm and cordial. Congratulations to the young lady behind the reception desk. Room 17 has a beautiful view over the grounds of the Haamstede gliding club. The room is large as is the bathroom. The beds sleep wonderfully, everything looks clean. The only thing this hotel lacks is love and attention. The furniture is a mixed bag. The bedside tables are turned upside down. The table top, top of the TV cabinet and the tops of the bedside tables are peeling so badly that I think for a moment that this is the intention. But the top of the coffee table is neat again. The toilet seat needs to be replaced, the shower rod is defective, the soap pump above the bath no longer fits in its holder, a dirty stain on the carpet and there is a tear in the net curtain. I have photos upon request. I don't care that the furnishings date from the eighties, a shower curtain instead of a beautiful glass door: that's fine. The radius and temperature of the water are fine. But it's the little things that ruin it. I estimate that with 300 euros the suffering will have been largely resolved and that the room will immediately look 50% better. I can understand that the chain might prefer to demolish the place, but really, with a simple renovation the hotel can last quite a while. Oh yes, promoting the menu more actively will win over guests more quickly, even in times of corona. As long as the capacity of the kitchen is not yet fully utilized, a lot is still possible. Nevertheless: we had a wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings.

The hotel is beautifully located, there is ample parking and there are 2 charging points for electric cars. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is quite dated and in need of a major upgrade. Its own 4-star classification is a joke, especially if you take into account the mediocre comfort of the rooms. The beds were downright terrible: no flannel under the loose sheets, so after some tossing you ended up lying on the mattress itself (unhygienic) and a synthetic duvet that had long since seen its best days. However, the employees were very nice and the breakfast was also okay. In Burgh-Haamstede it is better to choose the Fletcher Strandhotel, which is newer and looks a lot better.

We booked a pack for New Year's Eve: *two rooms 4 adults 3 nights *three course meal day 1 *4 course meal on 12/31 route traveled to get there 400 km round trip. First inconveniences: * Old-fashioned hotel in need of serious renovation: reception (photo of the site not current), catering areas, corridors, rooms, etc. *retirement home smell*very poorly lit room *bathroom in its original state and On our arrival we are unpleasantly surprised and disappointed as to the announced meal times: *day 1 meal at... 5 or 7 p.m. *New Year's Eve meal at...6 p.m. and a buffet which replaces a 4-course New Year's Eve menu (many absences we are told...) the bubbles to pass the New Year removed *And we are told that no musical entertainment would take place after the meal... nothing... Big new surprise the next morning, a hotel of the same chain is located 150 m away - same management, completely different setting and of high standard from all points of view, 4-course New Year's Eve meal planned for 8 p.m. followed by a musical evening...We explain our dissatisfaction but impossible to be able to celebrate New Year's Eve in this establishment... We wrote an email to the two hotels and to Fletcher customer service and no reaction; we can just go have a drink around 9 p.m. sitting at the bar and probably hinder the service... At the duinhotel no customer empathy, no solution, manager absent... Finally, after wasting our day trying to find a solution, we shortened our stay and left not without having received a note of 247 eur per room for a night and a meal. We will also consult a legal advisor regarding the numerous inconveniences caused and claim compensation. In short, a hotel to be avoided except for people of the 4th age in number in the hotel and towards whom we have the greatest respect. The hotel lacked transparency on its site; some photos are misleading like the state of the reception.

We booked a one-day Christmas package for €350 including wine. It is a beautiful, fairly new hotel in beautiful surroundings. Almost nothing was left to chance, Atmospheric Christmas decorations, Most friendly staff. Excellent food, lactose intolerance was also taken into account. The living music was classy. Nice large room, so far so good. However, the bathroom was scandalous, a sewage stench and the tile floor of the walk-in shower was heavily soiled in the joints with mold and a thick layer of other dirt in all kinds of colors. On the day of arrival, nothing could be done about it. The receptionist with a German accent only responded angrily to the complaint the next morning, The world turned upside down, We had to leave without being able to shower responsibly.
