The Woodman Inn

A very comfortable, value for money pub with accommodation. Our room was separate to the pub so was quiet, cosy and clean. The staff were very welcoming. We particularly would like to give a shout out to Chloe, who couldn’t do enough for us and was lovely. Hopefully we’ll be back! Mark and Michelle

This is a lovely inn that offers lovely accommodation and great food with good selection of drinks,landlord and staff are very welcoming,all in a great location and my favourite place to stay while visiting my daughter,near the lovely market town Bedale and close to leeming raf base

We had a family holiday in this area and had two meals in this venue . A really nice comfortable place to eat staff really friendly and value for money. We were made most welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We all had a different meal and every one was serviced hot.

We stayed here for my sons wedding and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone . There was no hot water for a shower on the morning of the wedding . The water in the sink tepid too . Told the landlord - he said everyone was getting a shower at the same time with a very dismissive attitude . I told him I expected a hot shower on the morning of my sons wedding - he shrugged his shoulders and said what do you expect in the dales ? We’ve stayed in the dales a lot - never happened before. Breakfast was very miserly , had to ask for milk for cereals , terrible service - attitude appalling from an older lady . DONT GO!! Cold shower on sons wedding morning is unacceptable

We stayed at the Woodman inn this Saturday just gone and stayed in the Forest room All I can say is it was absolutely perfect!! Rooms: Really big , clean, comfy and quiet and we were able to check in a couple of hours early Staff: We met the owner and the Chef and both were really welcoming and engaging and it was obvious they loved what they did and were proud of the Woodman and they have every right to be Mood: the bar area feels very cosy and the added bonus of a resident dog made it feel even more homely and I loved him wandering over now and again to be stroked Food: Blimey where do I begin? We arrived around 1:30pm so had lunch and you cant even call it pub grub, it was fantastic, I had the steak pie and Donna had the Wensleydale Chicken. We arent the 'take pics of your food to post to Instagram' kinda people but it looked so awesome that Donna had to take a Pic! we hardly spoke a word as we were so busy demolishing it all! we left thinking how excited we were for having Dinner there. Likewise Dinner was fantastic and afterwards we collapsed on the bed like 2 beached whales and realised that had scuppered our planned dirty weekend as we couldnt move, so we fell asleep in a food coma Breakfast again was just great, all high quality food used and the service was so fast!, we made sure we thanked the Chef for all the meals he made us as it was top notch id give 6 stars if I could, and thanks for having us.

Lovely pub meal, really pleasantly surprised after some not so good meals in other family pubs. Gorgeous chips and lovely fish. I am fussy and this was the best fish n chips I have had for ages. Even my fussy 6 year old cleared his plate. Friendly helpful staff. Really enjoyed our meal on a Tuesday Evening in half term. Sorry to the diners nearby as our kids were quite rowdy and noisy!
