"The room's cleanliness was decent. Even though the booking mentioned renovations, I didn't hear any noise, perhaps because I was on the 2nd floor. The location is excellent; Tenjin is just a 5-minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel staff provided great service, greeting guests proactively and helping me call a taxi at checkout. A taxi from the airport to the hotel cost less than 3000 JPY. The Fukuoka Airport International Terminal doesn't have a direct subway connection, so you have to take a shuttle bus to the domestic terminal to transfer, which is quite inconvenient. If you're traveling with many people, I recommend taking a taxi directly."

"We had a pleasant stay at Oriental Express Fukuoka Nakasu Kawabata hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent, making it easy to explore the area. However, we were concerned about the layout of our room. There is a step immediately after entering, which creates a hazardous situation—the bed and bathroom are located above the step, while the sink is below. We tripped a couple of times during our stay, and the step makes it difficult to manage luggage safely. It’s something the hotel might want to address for guest safety. Overall, a good stay with a small but important safety issue in our room."

"The location is super convenient, just 200 meters from the train station. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Tenjin-Minami, and you can easily walk to Canal City Hakata in under 15 minutes. There are lots of convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, so you don't have to worry about finding food even if you come back late. This is a typical Japanese hotel – small but well-designed. A 21-square-meter room is actually quite spacious here!"

The room is quite small if you are with kids and the room is quite hot. The ventilation should have room for improvement. "The public bath was smaller than those in the other hotels we’ve stayed at, but overall it was great. I found the view from the bath very relaxing. Having a sauna and a gym would make it even better. Breakfast was tasty and offered a wide selection of different foods, mostly Asian dishes. I had high expectations for the kaisendon, but unfortunately it was just okay. I appreciated the professional attitude of the restaurant staff. Overall, the service met the expected standards. ."

"The room wasn't overly spacious; while the twin beds could be pushed together, we could barely open our 28-inch suitcase by the wall due to limited space. Location-wise, it's fantastic for subway users, with the station entrance right outside the hotel. However, for those focused on shopping, it's somewhat inconveniently situated between Hakata and Tenjin, meaning it's not truly close to either major shopping district. That said, breakfast was absolutely delicious! The cute little bowls used for serving food were a charming touch, and it certainly put me in a great mood to start the day. There's a free rooftop onsen (hot spring bath) available, but remember to bring your own swimwear. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for first-time visitors to Fukuoka. For a maiden trip, most people would prefer to be closer to Hakata for its dining, sightseeing, and easy access to day trips, or near Tenjin for serious retail therapy. This spot is much better suited for returning visitors."

"This hotel is super close to the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station, which was really convenient since our day tour meeting point was right in front of the Lawson convenience store in the plaza. It made dining and getting around incredibly easy. The room itself wasn't huge, but the bathroom was very clean. They tidied up daily, changed towels, and refilled our mineral water, so the daily service was pretty good. For breakfast, there are three set menus plus one seasonal option, and all of them tasted great. We started each day feeling refreshed and energized!"

The room also came with a washing machine and microwave, which was incredibly convenient. The hotel is right next to the subway exit. Although the room was a bit small, you can't have everything, and I was surprisingly satisfied overall.

It's a forest-themed hotel with an abundance of plants, making for some truly beautiful pictures. Although the room was a bit small, it was quite clean. The breakfast offered a rich variety of ingredients and tasted great, with both made-to-order dishes (three options available) and a buffet. My friend particularly loved the clam chowder; it was incredibly fresh and delicious. I'd definitely come back again!

IidolphindoFirst off, the hotel's location is superb. The airport shuttle stops right downstairs, and there's direct subway access from the B2 level via elevator, which is incredibly convenient. While the hotel facilities are a bit simple, they are spotlessly clean and tidy. The bedding and room temperature settings are also very thoughtful – not too hot, not too cold – surpassing most five-star hotels back home. Plus, they offer complimentary soba noodles and sake in the evenings, which is an absolute steal! The hotel breakfast is decent too, with a good variety of options, including burgers that kids will love. Oh, and next to the lobby there's a nice dessert and casual dining spot where hotel guests get a 10% discount. It's super easy to explore and find food nearby, making it highly recommended for family trips!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is quite close to Hakata Station, about a 7-10 minute walk from the Chikushi Exit or Chikushi Side Exit. There's a convenience store just to the left when you exit the hotel. Most of the dining options are closer to the station; the famous Hakata ramen was much too salty for my taste. The hotel's exterior and reception lobby are spacious and impressive. Due to an issue with our room type reservation, the front desk attendant on duty that day patiently and thoroughly explained the situation with a friendly attitude. For a hotel in Japan, the room size was decent; we could lay out two suitcases, one large and one small. The hotel is well-maintained and clean, and they provide two complimentary bottles of mineral water. The double bed was quite small (definitely not 1.5 meters, probably around 1.3 meters). My biggest frustration was with the showerhead; due to water pressure issues, it constantly pointed to one side, making it very difficult to control the spray direction.

MM328290****I stayed here for two nights right after landing in Fukuoka, and even as a solo traveler, the room felt incredibly cramped. I quickly switched hotels on the third day. The room was tiny and dated, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a guesthouse from the last century. You basically stepped out of the door and were immediately at the bed. My suitcase could only perch precariously on a folding luggage rack. The cleanliness was mediocre. The bathroom seemed quite clean and looked like it had been thoroughly scrubbed, but the room walls were very dirty with black marks. It wasn't until I opened my suitcase and its wheels rubbed against the wall that I realized where those black marks came from. Even though it was a non-smoking floor, the air in the room wasn't great. After just one night, my tonsils became inflamed. Those with sensitivities should definitely avoid this place. Toiletries and bathrobes were self-service in the lobby downstairs. The small packets of toner and lotion were surprisingly good, and the compressed exfoliating mitt was also quite useful. Drinking water wasn't provided, but there was a self-service laundry room. The hotel's location is pretty good, though. Le Labo is directly across the street, and there are many trendy shops and restaurants nearby. Tenjin shopping district is also within walking distance. It was quite cheap when I booked it, so I won't complain too much. It's suitable for backpackers.
