Pratik Patel(Melbourne)We had a wonderful family vacation stay at Hilton Cairns. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on the waterfront with beautiful views and very easy access to the Marine Esplanade, where you can enjoy a variety of water activities and explore the best of Cairns.
The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and family-friendly activities. Our child had plenty of things to enjoy nearby, making it a great choice for families.
The in-house restaurant was excellent, with a nice atmosphere and great food options. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable.
Hilton Cairns is a great place for a family holiday — combining comfort, convenience, and a perfect location. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting Cairns.

Guest UserThe hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the pier. They don't provide bottled water, and there's no facility to get drinkable water, so you'll need to buy your own from the supermarket. Drying clothes on the balcony is prohibited, so bring extra swimsuits or a portable drying device. The shower easily wets the bathroom floor.

Guest UserI stayed at two hotels in Cairns, 3 nights at Hilton and 3 nights at Shangri-La. My conclusion: if I go back to Cairns, I won't stay at Hilton again, but I will choose Shangri-La.
Regarding the facilities: both hotels were booked for deluxe twin rooms. Shangri-La was clean and tidy with newer facilities, clearly superior to Hilton. Hilton was noticeably old and dated, not even reaching the standard of a 3-star hotel in China.
Regarding service: Shangri-La provided bottled drinking water daily. Hilton did not provide bottled water; guests had to use the glass bottles in their room to get water from the dispenser in the hallway. The dispenser on our floor was broken and unusable.
Regarding breakfast: Shangri-La's breakfast was more varied and available until 10:30 AM, effectively serving as brunch. What's more, no staff came to rush guests to finish even at 10:30 AM. Hilton's breakfast was not as varied as Shangri-La's and ended at 9:30 AM. Around 9:15 AM, staff started clearing up and cleaning, removing empty plates from our table without asking and reminding us that breakfast would close at 9:30 AM.

Salted BroadbeansThe unit is adequate for my family of six for a 3-night stay. Basic necessities are generally met, and the overall stay was acceptable. However, there were several maintenance and usability issues that affected comfort. Some air-conditioning remotes were faulty or missing batteries, requiring us to swap between rooms to find working ones. The telephone/RJ45 connection head was also broken and left dangling, with wiring not properly connected, which gave a poor impression of upkeep. In terms of sleeping comfort, the beds are quite soft and the pillows offer very little support. The positioning of the electrical wall outlets behind the bed also made it inconvenient, as we had to shift the bed forward to access the sockets. For kitchen use, it would be helpful to provide basic dishwashing supplies such as a small bottle of dishwashing liquid and a sponge, especially when only a few items are used in the dishwasher. On a positive note, the bathroom facilities are in good condition. Water pressure is strong and hot water is consistently available, which made showers comfortable. Overall, the stay was acceptable, but there is clear room for improvement in maintenance and basic guest amenities.

A well presented accommodation with everything you need. I really liked the front desk hours. They are open till 10.30 pm. The only setback was that the wi fi didn't work.

강쥐사탕I booked a 3-bedroom apartment, but didn't have high expectations since it was a motel. However, it was cleaner than I thought and not bad at all. It's a bit far from the city center, so I had to use Uber frequently. Still, the accommodation fee was cheap enough that even with the Uber costs, it was still a good deal. It takes about 10 minutes by Uber to get to the city center, and you can just do your grocery shopping at a supermarket there and take an Uber back.

Guest UserFirst of all, this is not a 5* Hotel and is not trying to be. This is a budget place to stay and with that in mind, I thought it was great.
The rooms were large enough, had a table and chairs, kettle, fridge, microwave, cutlery, the most amenities so far in 4 months of travelling.
On top of that, there is a modest pool and a large cooking area that has utensils which was really useful for us budget travellers.
The location is as good as we could have got, 30 mind walk to the train station and harbour, an hour walk from the airport.
The place also has parking.
Although
- it was a little dirty and rusty in places
- there were lots of tiny roaches which comes with the territory, but still worth mentioning
- there were 3 floors in our block, each with a toilet, our toilet was cleaned but no toilet paper replenished for the 3 days we were there
