The Caledon Hotel and Spa

There is no room service or kitchen to order from. Check In was cumbersome - one of the hotel staff was continuously saying I have to settle the bill since they have not received the funds from Trip.com and that they will refund me once the funds have cleared - this even after Trip.com verified with the Hotel Staff Supervisor that payment was done.

As always, we choose Caledon Spa as our getaway for two, we enjoy the hot springs, the cool pool and of course the lovely walk around the grounds. I would like to see some upgrade to the rooms though, especially the bathroom, which hasnt changed in the 20 years we have been visiting there, The bathroom, although clean, is old and outdated with the shower and shower curtain in the bath. Another huge challenge is the fact that there is no halaal restaurant or eatery within in the grounds. One has to drive out into town to get KFC , which is not always what we want. I think Caledon Spa will be great if there was a Nandos onsite. Nandos my preference, but any other halaal eatery will be appreciated, seeing that there are many Muslims checking in at Caledon all the time. Breakfast buffet is always a highlight Still, my favorite place to go to for some R&R.

The service was excellent friendly staff. The hotel was clean, linen fresh the food was very good and the spa treatments they offer is one of the best. Keep up with the good service.

I have been to many places before but for me with this place the service was just from top quality, I have never received such friendly service before, for me it is always important to handle guest with respect and that is what we got. Thank you for your hospitality.

Dilapitated, dirty, door does not lock. Spa looks dirty, leaves in steam room,just terrible all in all. No robes for spa. No food in hotel. Must go and eat pizza in ******. The worst spa i have ever seen. My head tells me something big is wrong! Stay away! It is not a spa! It is a game, scruffy joint.

Wow what an experience. I loved the room for it was neat and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed the peace of the clear water at the pool area. I will definitely be going to this hotel again for the spa will have to be the next experience. This is a must go to place.

Honestly one of the worst spa experiences I have had. We got there and half of the facilities were closed because a group of teenagers had taken a dump in the above pools. Went to go complain they told me that everything's fine then as we were about to get back in , we got told that it's being cleaned and will be out of service the whole day because of the teenagers. Big no jumping and screaming signs but we could not relax anywhere because of the jumping and screaming. Steam room was dirty and full of sand everywhere. Was honestly just a terrible experience.

Shocking breakfast, empty troughs, no choices left still an hour before breakfast closed, unresponsive management. For R200, outrageous! Then pools closed for refurbishing & painting, but although the spa staff knew we were coming to enjoy pools and treatment, they never bothered to call and let us know. Will not be back in a hurry, this episode utterly spoiled a well planned birthday outing.
