During our recent visit to Scotland during first week of July, we stayed at The Crags Hotel at Callander in Scotland, and it exceeded all our expectations. Located in a scenic spot just walking distance to spectacular Bracklinn Falls Bridge, this charming hotel offers a perfect blend of modern comfort and great hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the staff who was welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. We were a family of three- 2 adults and child. Our room was spacious and clean and sufficient storage space for luggages. We stayed for 2 nights and room was comfortable without having to feel crammed. The hotel also has their in-house restaurant “Desh” which serves authentic Indian cuisine. We had dinner at Desh and the food was just awesome. It was fresh, hot and tasted authentic indian flavors with the right amount of spices. We are from India so can easily identify a great Indian restaurant. The restaurant had sufficient seating, was clean and well managed. We also had the chance to speak with the new owner of The Crags hotel, who genuinely wanted his guests to have a great experience staying at the hotel or having food at the restaurant. The hotel does not provide breakfast but it was not an issue for us as there were several other cafes and restaurants just walking distance form the hotel and also a grocery store close by which was really convenient. If anyone visiting Scotland and happens to stop at Callander, the Crags hotel is a great place to stay. And don’t forget to have some delicious indian food at Desh.

This hotel is a little Gem. A beautiful hotel at a beautiful location. We were looking for a place to stay as a stop over on our way to Highlands. We were told of this place Callander, small and beautiful village and we found this hotel for a nights stay. Very impressed with the hotel and the cozy rooms. The hotel is really well maintained and the service is excellent. The hotel has great ambience and also has a in house restaurant called "Desh" I would highly recommend Lamb chops (my fav). I usually am not very comfortable with hotel stays, but this did not disappoint at all. I would highly recommend this little gem( I mean it) of a hotel and also worth trying the in house restaurant. Thank you Crags hotel staff for great hospitality and providing a very comfortable stay..... great experience.

My partner and I recently stayed at the lovely crags hotel in Callander, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home with their friendly and helpful attitude. We were given Room 8, and wow, the mountain views from our window were just stunning. Waking up to that scenery every morning was a real treat. The room itself was clean, spacious, and had a cozy feel that made it a perfect little retreat. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. They were always on hand to help with any questions we had, offering great recommendations for things to do in the area. Their local knowledge really made a difference, helping us get the most out of our visit. A highlight of our dining experiences was at Desh Restaurant. The food there was simply amazing. Every dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was impeccable, making our meal there a memorable part of our stay. The hotel owner deserves a special shout-out. He personally welcomed us and gave us a fantastic rundown of the local area, pointing out some must-see spots and hidden gems we wouldn't have known about otherwise. Their passion for the area and dedication to making sure guests have a great stay was really impressive. All in all, our stay at this hotel in Callander was wonderful. Room 8 was a perfect little haven with its breathtaking views, and the staff and owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Callander. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I stayed here for one night. It was great. I decided I wanted food late and the only place open for a sit down meal was the restaurant at the back. Desh. great food. I was so hungry and the food was absolutely completely what I needed! Enjoyed every bite! The staff were also great, very friendly and accommodating. The service was quick even though the restaurant was extremely busy. I enjoyed my stay as well. Bed was so comfy and room was really roomy. Overall a great stay and enjoyed myself immensely. Will be returning and recommending.

We never stayed at the crags hotel but decided to eat here as its menu is Indian food which we were really excited about , bar staff are friendly and helpful , drinks were absolutely fine, but the food ? Well is terrible, the chicken tikka starter looked and tasted 2 weeks old ! We had already ordered our mains so had to go with it at this point, our curries looked like nothing that we had ever seen , but would give benefit of the doubt as the chef could be authentic Bengali, and this is how it looks over their, but no both meals were inedible, chicken looked purple and smelt like had been bleached to get rid of rotten smell, rice was vacuumed up from the night before and emptied on to plate , naan breads were rock hard and cold , and both curries tasted and looked exactly the same , I know you start with one base sauce and start from there but come on any body could of made them with no experience! Popadoms tasted of pure salt and floppy lol, if your passing through or staying in callender scotland and fancy a curry , go to CO-OP and get a microwave one , I had about 6 mouthfuls before deciding to leave so fingers crossed I make it till morning, 🤞

We paid £124 for a double room. Room itself was nice. We didn't have any towels or pillow cases. when we asked for them they said they didn't have any pillow cases and handed us 1 hand towel. Ended up we didn't need to use any towels as there was no water coming out the shower and a tiny dribble coming out the the sink tap. The information pack in the room told us breakfast was served between 8.30-9.30 we went down for breakfast there was no one there and it was in darkness. Not sure what that was all about. I wouldn't recommend this hotel

I stayed at the Crags hotel with my family. We booked two rooms and they were fabulous. The location is great as it is right in the middle of town and so you can access all the nearby shops and cafes. The hotel also has a restaurant at the back which is an indian. The cuisine is fabulous and it tasted amazing! The bar was great and was filled with friendly faces and great bar staff. All in all a wonderful, fun experience!

Me and my partner stayed here for the weekend (Friday/Saturday). It was nice for a short term stay. We didn't think our room was the best (mainly for the location) but we booked it last minute so wouldn't expect them to have a selection of rooms available. We were in one of 2 rooms at the other side of the Indian Restaurant. On our first night we realised the walls were quite thin as we could hear the room next door between 9-11pm slamming the door quite a number of times, the shower temperature was temperamental, one minute extremely cold, the next scalding hot. We struggled to shower on the last day but we were heading home so no big deal. The bed was quite hard and not overly comfortable if you are staying for a longer period of time, but the pillows were great. I personally think the price of the room was a bit high, but I understand it's a small business. We unfortunately never got the chance to eat at the Indian when we were there but it smelt amazing! Overall, the place was nice for an overnight visit, the room was clean and the staff were lovely and accommodating.
