Cambridge Bar Hill Hotel, BW Signature Collection

This is a fantastic location with easy access to the A14 for Cambridge , Royston etc. Service was incredible ; friendly, professional and courteous with staff going the extra mile to individualise according to your needs and be helpful. The twin room was spacious with good Aircon, comfy beds with an orgy of spare pillows and a beverization station, refilled by housekeeping or on request. Good sustainability behaviours are in evidence - in fact it's incentivised on the part of the customer that gives a ..... , because if staying a couple of nights and you don't need housekeeping ( I.e you are not ' The Princess and the Pee' so don't need daily fresh towels and sheets) you are rewarded with complimentary drinks vouchers for the bar/restaurant. Speaking of which, the restaurant does a nice two or three course deal which also includes free drinks. The food was delicious, well-cooked, timely and generously portioned. Service was also nicely apportioned - across promptness, friendliness and efficiency. There are always obsessives that switch to a macrolense and document every square centimetre or the room carpet and bring a thermometer to check the shower water, just ignore their reviews below and wish them the possibility of a more interesting life. Everything was fine and clean and nothing detracted from the enjoyment of the room and amenities.

I have stayed here many times and really enjoyed my stay but this time not so great there was a huge gap under the door letting in loads of light from the corridor so had to roll a towel up the block the gap. There is normally spare pillows but not this time we had 2 very flat pillows so did not get a good sleep at all

While the hotel itself and rooms are fine. You have to pay extra for parking which is clearly just for capitalist gains as it’s on property. They advertise a pool (one of the main reasons we picked the hotel), which we were told on arrival has been closed for years, yet no thought to advertise this online was thought of? No instead they keep a picture of said swimming pool online when it would be a simple manner of taking one picture down to stop disappointment. They keep it up to attract visitors unfortunately. The water in the room for shower and bath simply did not go hot, but rather a low lukewarm. Breakfast also cost £15 which we opted not to do due to competition prices being so much lower for the same thing. Ultimately, it was a disappointing stay mainly due to their misinformation than the room itself.

Rooms good with Air con. Gym needs updating. Breakfast can be better.

It was very convenient hotel to stay after spending the day in Cambridge. Very comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast was outstanding. Parking was easy and reasonable.

I had not noticed there was a £5 charge for car park. I feel strongly that unless the car park is shared or owned by another firm, the cost of the car parking should be included in the price. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere so 95% of guests will have a car. It should be included in the cost and not hidden as an extra. There are two check in pads next to the car park payment kiosk. I tried three times, with two different cards to use the first machine & also pressed the "help" button which promised a member of staff would come to help. Nobody turned up so I tried the other machine which did work ok. I turned and walked 10 yards & there was a reception desk with a young lady hanging around behind the counter. Why subject guests to self check in when the receptionist is at her desk and why did she not come to help when i pressed the help button? I stayed on a Thursday night & the bar was like a morgue. Not a sole to be seen
