Close to river Cam. Old building but most of the facilities are clean. A very typical English guest house.

The hotel is located within Cambridge University city! Right across from the Cambridge University lawn. However, the room was too small, and the stairs were not friendly for someone like me with a large suitcase! Breakfast mainly consisted of ready-made supermarket food, with no eggs – eggs cost an additional £4.90. The dining environment was quite good though.

The hotel wasn’t the easiest to find, the parking was down a driveway and they charge £18 per day to park.  I think this is absurd, I have never paid to park when I have booked a hotel.  I requested a room with a shower not a bath.  I did get a ground floor room, but it had a bath with an old shower.  The bathroom looked like it needed an upgrade, it was clean, but the tiles and grout were dirty, the sink plug didn’t work and the toilet creaked when you sat on it.  The hotel inside was ok,  but they were having some work done and the carpet was uneven, I tripped on out a few times.  The music that was in the background was awful and didn’t change in the two days we were there.  The restaurant wasn’t very big, but they did have a conservatory where you could sit and eat.  The food was ok, not a great selection, but quite expensive.  We booked bed and breakfast and was told when we arrived that breakfast was a Continental breakfast, not a cooked breakfast that we were expecting.  We could order a cooked breakfast but at an additional cost.  The meal was basic, if you wanted vegetables, that was extra, so not what we were expecting of a good hotel.

Facilities: The room was great, with a super beautiful view right outside the window. The entire hotel felt very historic and full of character. However, there's no elevator, which could be a hassle if you have large luggage. Service: Huge thanks to the two staff members who helped carry our luggage up and down the stairs. The front desk staff's overall service attitude was decent. Location: It's very close to the Cambridge community, making it quite convenient for getting around.

The traditional style hotel is nice and the location is good. You can walkable all the city area and park, opposite hotel, is lovely summer time.  Because of summer, the hotel is traditional style and no air condition, so it’s very hot inside the room.  Continental breakfast is nice and Croissant is tasty.

I was more satisfied with my room on the first night of my stay. The new room felt somewhat damp, there was no elevator access, and the alarm noise woke me up. The hotel staff were kind, professional, and respectful, but I think the conditions and quality of the rooms vary. Thank you again for the cooperation and assistance of the hotel staff.

Cambridge is a university town north of London with lots yo see and do though yoo many tourists to my taste. Highlight of my stay was a bisit to the Fitzwilliam museum - the Egyptian, Greek and Roman galleries ate unforgettable!

Overall, this place offers decent value for money. I booked a bit too early, so the price was 300-400 RMB higher than if I had booked closer to my stay. Aside from that, everything else was great. The entire building was renovated in 1980, and the English garden style is very pleasant.

Service good. Enjoyed breakfast and it being available from 7am. Appreciated location and view across to river and easy walking to parks towards Cambridge centre.
