Hyatt Centric Cambridge

I wasn't going to leave a review, but getting woken up by a sudden smoke alarm at 8 AM this morning was a first – and the front desk didn't answer when I called. I already had to switch rooms once because the toilet seat in the first room was broken. Who knew this new room would have even more problems? Stains everywhere. Broken drawer handles – you can't even open the drawers. The bathroom door won't close. Even hotels like the Shangri-La in Shanghai will actively respond with apologies and upgrade your room if the screen mirroring doesn't work. I thought maybe in the UK, a lack of service was normal. But that smoke alarm this morning really blew me away. The location is remote, and if you're sightseeing and want to store luggage and come back for it later, it's really inconvenient and a waste of time.

Exceeded expectations! This is my second time in the UK, and this hotel offered the best value for money, facilities, and surrounding environment throughout my trip. I'll definitely be staying here again for my child's summer camp. This hotel is located in a new, clean, safe, and quiet community developed in Cambridge over the last three years. Directly across from the hotel is a University of Cambridge primary school, and just 50 meters away are the U1 and U2 bus stops. These lines take you from the train station, passing museums, Queen's College, and all the popular colleges (Cambridge has over thirty colleges, big and small!). You can bring luggage on the bus, and it costs around 3 pounds, payable conveniently with a contactless credit card. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided, and complimentary drinking water and coffee/tea bags were restocked. The hotel offers room service with a detailed menu, and prices ranging from 9.9 to 28 pounds. The garden-style restaurant and courtyard downstairs are beautiful, perfect for a relaxing stay, especially with the long daylight hours in July and August in the UK. There's a large supermarket conveniently located across from the hotel, perfect for all your shopping needs.

The room was clean and tidy, spacious, and overall good. Parking was convenient with direct lift access to the lobby and floors. However, this morning around 6 AM, the fire alarm suddenly went off, requiring evacuation downstairs, but there were no announcements or hotel staff to provide assistance or instructions.

This is one of my top recommended hotels within the Cambridge University graduate student area. I frequently book this hotel for our professors and students, and every time, I receive excellent feedback. On July 17th and 18th, there was a very large event in this new research district, which was just a 3-minute walk from the hotel. It was incredibly convenient, and everyone had a great time! 😀 The biggest advantage of the hotel is its extremely convenient transportation. There's a U Bus stop right near the entrance, providing direct access to Cambridge city center and the train station, making it perfect for visiting scholars, students, or first-time visitors to Cambridge. A large supermarket is just a two or three-minute walk away, making daily shopping very easy. The surrounding neighborhood is pleasant, with many excellent restaurant options. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety and excellent quality, ensuring a pleasant start to each day. Overall, whether it's the accommodation environment, location, or convenience, it's an ideal choice for anyone studying, working, or visiting Cambridge. I will definitely continue to recommend it to professors, students, and friends.

It's a bit far from the city center, but it's very quiet and there's a supermarket nearby. There's also a bus stop right outside that takes you to the central area. However, this time I experienced a fire alarm, and the entire building was woken up at 5 AM. It was the first time I've ever encountered such a thing. Luckily, there was no actual danger, but it definitely left me sleep-deprived. I probably won't choose to stay here again.

The room was nice, quite spacious, and very new, with a light blue oceanic theme. The location was decent; there's a bus stop right outside with direct service to the city center. The only downside was that there was only one restaurant nearby, an Italian pizzeria, but thankfully the food was really good.

This hotel was a really satisfying stay for me. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from Cambridge city center, but the hotel amenities are excellent. I particularly liked the blue color scheme in the room. Plus, there are bus stops nearby with routes to the train station and various attractions. If you're looking for a comfortable stay, I highly recommend it. There's also a large supermarket conveniently located next door.
