Parador Monasterio de Corias

Second visit was just as peaceful and enjoyable as the first from earlier this year! I love this parador! Only wish the beds were more comfortable. However, the cuisine and building and staff and location were exceptional.

Parador de Corias is a beautiful Parador in a former monastery just outside Cangas de Narcea. Free parking open air or garage at the time of our stay. Nieves at reception checked us in with a radiant smile. She made us feel very welcome and enhanced our stay - paradors do not usually have amiable staff. All those we encountered here said hola or buenas dias with a smile. There is an elegant library and a monk's cell to visit, 2 inner courtyards, a stone staircase and a wooden staircase as well as modern lifts. Did not experience the indoor pool (cap & flipflops) & spa. There is a complimentary tour of the parador at 10.30 am at the end of which a visit to the church is currently 5€ which is not owned by the parador. The money goes to the monks. A comfortable stay in a spotlessly clean, well kept Parador.

I attended my son wedding here on saturday 7/10/23 . And they couldnt do enough for the couple and family . Once wedding was over . I found a diffrent kind of service with this hotel . I asked for price list for mini fright and menu for room services . One lady says just ring repectiin and tell them what you . I said ok fine . Ordered room service to start it 8 euros just for someone too bring u room service . I ordered at 8.30pm they said 10 mins that grand . I ended up waiting an hour just for hard chicken and asked for chips . I got crisps . This hotel is 4 half stars .i was expecting better because all other peoples reviews . I give them 3 stars

The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful! The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. Notably, Lara Gonzalez in the restaurant always had an incredibly wonderful smile and made sure everything was perfect for each and every meal! She is a gem! The only cons of our visit were the following: The room, along the roadway side of the hotel, was uncomfortable due to the incessant roadway noise from passing cars, trucks, buses, etc... It was not just a momentary annoyance, but all night long. Sleep was very difficult. I would highly suggest a room in another location of the hotel. Next, the spa services, namely the massage left a lot to be desired. I attempted to book a more deep tissue massage yet the staff did not book it and suggested a lomi lomi massage instead. By the time I responded to their email and stated I preferred the deep tissue massage it was no longer available. My continued requests to the therapist to provide a firm massage were met with no change in the experience. Regardless, it was a pleasant relaxing massage, although not what I was seeking. To make the experience worse, the spa had an unbearably strong sewer smell in the massage area which was overwhelmingly horrific and a major distraction to any relaxation. I would book the hotel again, but request another room, away from the roadway and I would NEVER book any spa service with them again.

Perfect place to go for a weekend. There is an indoors swimming pool and a little spa. The breakfast buffet is to die for, one of the best I have ever tried. The building deserves 5 stars and if you want to have a meal there, the restaurant is really good. Cangas de Narcea is 3 kms away but you can go on foot and it has some very good restaurants.

Good food, excellent room, amazing building and plenty of things to do on a short stay. We went to the swimming pool for a nice swim before dinner. The water was good and the pool very clean. Dinner and service was very good. Local produce full of flavours. We had Chusco as an appetiser, a local meat that we had never had before. We have actually brought some home. This type of welcome is a very good way to show unknown products to people like us, who might feel more comfortable going down the already known flavours.
