Abused, Chased Down and our Vehicle Damaged by irate park manager! Zero star cannot be given! Looking for a place to camp with our dog in Cania Gorge we took a slow drive through the park with our dog safely secured in the back tray. Having seen the pet friendly sign and another dog at the reception we assumed this would be okay....WE WERE SO WRONG! After entering the park and slowly driving towards the back of the park we were accosted by a speeding polaris, which stopped in a clowd of dust. We were told very rudely and under no uncertain terms that we had to leave immediately as "dogs" were not allowed in the park. I questioned him about the dog I had seen at the reception. He told me that there was not such dog and that I had made it up. Confused by the senseless exchange I slowly headed towards the park exit and the reception, all while being closely tailed 'being seen off' by the man on the polaris. The dog was still sitting at the reception when I passed, so I got out of my vehicle and pointed it out to the man who was still behind us. He then mouthed something aggressively so I gave him a much deserved finger! What comes next is absolutely crazy! I hop back in my car and hear the roar of the polaris engine speeding towards our vehicle and the very busy pool area filled with familes with young children. Before I know it the man is at my car window screaming at me to get out of his park and that I'm never welcome there ever again. He couldn't explain why there was an issue with our restrained 'friendly' dog being in the pet friendly park and continued to perform like a man posessed. It was apparent that this man was the park manager by this time. My partner had joined the heated exchange by this time and further infuriated the man, who was not prepared to not have the last word. I then attempted to drive out of the park. Again, I heard the roar of the polaris engine, this time trying to cross to the passenger side to attack my partner. When I realised what was happening and concerned about the safety of the small children walking on the road I braked. The polaris then smashed straight up the back of my ute, damaging my tailgate and injuring my dog that was still tied in the back. At no point did I receive an apology from him and furthermore he did not have the common decency to return any of my messages to help organise my vehicle repair. The park also would not disclose who he was. The park itself is alright, the wildlife and water park make it...But the manager is completely unsuitable for the position he holds and detracts from an otherwise nice park.
