Quinta Splendida Wellness & Botanical Garden

Amazing garden and restaurant ‘La Perla’ (a la carte, no idea about half pension buffet) I upgraded to the Spa suite with ocean view, extremely comfortable!

Booked a holiday but hotel we chose had issues fulfilling our booking so we chose this hotel on a whim - BEST MOVE EVER! Canico is a fairly quiet town, this beautiful hotel is set in the most stunning gardens. The rooms are over two floors, all spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Ours certainly felt like we’d stepped onto a film set with two full balconies and a Juliet balcony all with great views over the ocean or gardens. The gardens are amazing with different “rooms” a zen garden, herb garden and veg garden (all produce used in onsite restaurants which are excellent) You could spend ages wandering around the gardens or be sat with a drink in the pool bar admiring views over the ocean with banana trees, bird of paradise and many other spectacular plants. The staff are a wonderful friendly caring group of people who clearly love where they work. There is a lovely spa you can book into for a great range of treatments. We had a wonderful stay at Quinta Splendida! The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was top notch, the staff even better, and the additional services offered were very tempting! We would definitely recommend booking with them to enjoy Madeira even more!

Amazing garden Wonderfull hotel with amazing garden. Nice staff. Clean. Very good breakfast. We were not that impressed with the dinners we had on the hotel, we prefered the other restaruants just outside the hotel instead. Be prepared for many stairs and some steep pathways, as the rest of the island.

Lovely resort with beautiful gardens, kind staff and comfortable rooms! We really enjoyed our stay. When we arrived we were immediately amazed by the beautiful gardens and pool. There is a wide variety of plants and flowers to enjoy and the plants, paths, pool, etc. are very well maintained. I read some reviews mentioning the rooms are quite dated, which I guess you could say is true, but this really is no problem in my opinion. The rooms are very neat and clean, you have everything you need and everything works! The only thing I could see being a problem is the fact the walls are quite thin. We had a neighbour who snored very loudly and there are some dogs in the area around the resort that will bark throughout the night, which did sometimes keep me up for a while. I must say however it's only a moderate amount of noise, light sleepers like myself might just want to bring some earplugs to be safe. We opted for a half pension stay with a breakfast and dinner buffet, which I was personally very satisfied with. Both buffets offer a wide variety of food options and though some of the food was more simple, there was always plenty of choices to enjoy for all of us. Next to the resort (only about a minute walk) is a supermarket where you can easily get anything else you need. We experienced the staff at Quinta Splendida as extremely kind, they are all very easygoing and happy to help you with anything you need. Overall a lovely resort that is well maintained and cares about their customers! I highly recommend!

Gorgeous setting but dated rooms Stunning gardens, pool and kitchen garden. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. The hotel rooms are set in gorgeous positions but ours (1116) was very dated. Felt a bit like a very large room in an institution! Bathroom sliding door needed repair and the shower was a trickle. Dirty seal on shower too. Felt it could be an amazing hotel given its layout and gardens but not sure what it would be like when busy. There were very few guests when we were there but the many, many loungers round the pool suggested a very different experience when full.
