Canmore Inn & Suites

We had a great stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good. Just a short walk to main street and stores and restaurants. The scenery was so beautiful. The breakfast buffet was very good and priced very well. We got in late and parking was limited, but after that first night, there were plenty of spots available.I would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Canmore Inn & Suites on Bow Valley Trail. While the property itself has potential and offers a convenient base for exploring the Rockies, my experience was significantly dampened by a factor I wasn't prepared for: a major local hockey tournament. The "Tournament" Factor I was unaware upon booking that my stay coincided with a Canmore hockey tournament for U11 and U13 divisions. To say these teams "took over the hotel" would be an understatement. The volume of children was overwhelming. This translated to: The Pool Area: Practically unusable for other guests; it was packed to capacity with kids from morning until night. Common Areas: Hallways and the lobby were very loud and, at times, felt uncontrollable. Lack of Supervision: There was a noticeable lack of adult/parental supervision in the public spaces, leading to a chaotic atmosphere that isn't ideal if you're looking for a relaxing mountain getaway. Staff and Noise Management To the hotel’s credit, the noise did mostly settle down by 10:30 PM. I spoke with the front desk, and they mentioned we could issue formal noise complaints if needed. However, it felt like a losing battle given the sheer volume of groups. The staff are clearly used to this, as these local tournaments bring in consistent bookings for the hotel. While the team was polite, they seemed stretched thin by the high occupancy and the energy of the young athletes. The Room and Amenities Pros: The location is excellent—close to downtown and Highway 1. The rooms are generally spacious, and the mountain views from the upper floors are a highlight. Cons: The property is showing its age. Some fixtures felt dated, and the cleanliness in the high-traffic common areas suffered due to the heavy foot traffic during the tournament. Final Verdict The simpler solution here is a matter of timing. If you aren't in town to participate in or spectate a tournament, check the local sports calendar before booking. If a U11/U13 tournament is on, I would recommend staying elsewhere. If you are here for the hockey, this is clearly the "hub," but for the average traveler, the lack of peace and quiet makes it hard to justify the price point during these peak weekends.

This hotel was conveniently placed in Canmore. The part of the hotel that we were in was a much dirtier part of the hotel. Our room had a dirty chair cloth chair that I’m not even sure what was on it, we did not use it. The pillows were terrible and the blanket was sort of a duvet cover but not really. The insert came out. I was in a friends room which was bigger and cleaner

Very good location easy go shopping , thai restaurant near there was good easy walk yo centre

This was a great hotel to stay at on the way through. Clean comfy.

Location was easy to find. Staff was friendly. Check in & check out was fast.
