This is hands down one of the best places you could ever visit with your kids. They’ve thought of everything. The stay includes breakfast, 5 course dinner and up to 12 hours of childcare, where kids do fun activities like learning to make mocktails, theatre performances, crafts, aerial, etc. There was a stunning adults only wellness area and also wine tasting every night. The kids could have their own special kids dinner or join the parents. Each morning, families could gather in the lobby and go around with staff to feed the animals. Don’t even get me started on how beautiful this hotel is. Every amenity is a dream come true for kids and parents alike. Our family deals with food allergies with a 7 year old and it’s complicated with eggs since they are in EVERYTHING. I was very nervous about this prior to arrival because it is a small car-less village in a foreign country and I didn’t want to chance any issues. They were AMAZING. They even made her own very special egg-free pancakes every single morning. The first time I dropped her off at kids club I went to give them her epi pens and mention the allergies and before I could even say it the staff member said: oh yes, the egg and tree nut allergy in 304. Not to mention, the food is delicious. I had the best pizza of my life at this hotel, which feels like a bold statement since I’ve been to Italy a couple of times. I’m still thinking about the pizza. I will cherish the memories made from this visit to Marchenhotel for the rest of my life. Thank you to the hotel owners and staff for your magical hospitality.

Fabulous time in Switzerland with our 3 kids age 3, 7, and 10. Another couple joined us and had a fabulous time. This was our third kinder hotel we have stayed at. So much to do for the kids on property including the beautiful outdoor playground, swimming pool and the highlight of my children’s trip: the guinea pigs, goats and llamas. One morning they played with the adorable guinea pigs for 2 whole hours. The breakfast buffet was tasty and had lots of options. For lunch we preferred to eat off property since we found the menu had limited options especially for adults, ie mostly pizza and chicken nuggets more for the children. The dinners were great and always found an option, huge salad bar. By the time it came to the main course I was already full. The only complaints I have is the kids club. For the price that we paid and having been to other kinder hotels, we felt the staff should have been more attentive. For example, the first day we used the kids club we had left them for a hike for 2 hours or less and had gotten 3 phone calls from the kids club saying the kids wanted us. When we got back, my friends daughter was playing by herself and 5 staff members at the kids club were sitting at a table talking and there was poop going up her back. Another time we used the kids club, we took them to the kid friendly dinner and dropped them at the kids club hoping for a peaceful dinner for a maximum of 1-2 hours. We were having drinks outside and then our kids were returned to us from the staff saying they missed us, so we had to take them all to a second dinner defeating the point of why we fed them before us. For a hotel advertising top of the line childcare and top of the line prices, we expected more from the kids club and had hope to relax more.

This hotel was a dream! The car-free village of Braunwald is absolutely breathtaking and the location of this hotel lets you take all the beauty in. From the moment we got picked up by their staff in the electric car, to the time we checked out, the hotel staff was absolutely wonderful. There's so much to do for the kids, from feeding the animals, to walking the llamas to playing outside on their property. The outdoor and indoor pool was also one of our kids' favorite part of the trip. They wanted to explore the property all day. The breakfast buffet was delicious and so was the dinner. I just wish my kids would have allowed us to enjoy one of the dinners in peace and quiet (by going to the kids club), but that's what happens when you vacation with kids :) One of our favorites will always be watching the goats pass by our room every day, at any time of the day. We could just sit in our room and enjoy the views all day long. Thank you, Nadja & Patric Vogel for making this fairytale hotel come to real life.

Perfect little hotel. Set in the most beautiful of landscapes. Still can't get over the beautiful view of the mountains outside our balcony and with the purest of sounds. So many wonderful walks in nature. The hotel itself is a wonderland for children. My little one is a toddler so we did not use the baby sitting services but there was so much to do for children of all ages. The indoor parks, the outdoor playgrounds and last but not least the animals! We loved walking the llamas and the goats trotting down the stairs and onto balconies were so cute! The food was absolutely great, with options also for the kids. A lot of toys and things to do for the little ones while eating. Attention to detail and the design is with children in mind (little sinks, hand rails, parking for strollers, toys in the rooms...) Last but not least, the staff were incredible. Family Vogel are such great hosts and went to great lenghts to make sure our stay was comfortable (even when my daughter was unwell). Rest of the staff, were also very helpful, and also around with a smile ensuring you have a wonderful stay.

Excellent service. Good variety of food and wine. Kids obviously loved it. The best part were the day hikes easy to do right from the front door. Outstanding views from our balcony. Coffee was excellent. The wine tasting sessions were good and enjoyable. Con - too many kids around :)

Märchenhotel Braunwald exceeded all our expectations. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful family-friendly details, everything was simply perfect. The staff was exceptionally kind and especially great with children. Our kids loved the daily animal feeding, and having goats wandering right outside our window was an unforgettable highlight. The location is breathtaking — surrounded by stunning Alpine scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. We highly recommend exploring the magical forest trail inspired by the local dwarf Bartli, as well as visiting the nearby Zilibachfall waterfalls, which offer a beautiful and easy hike for families. The hotel is beautifully designed with spacious rooms, a fantastic kids’ play area, a relaxing wellness zone for parents, and excellent cuisine with child-friendly options. This isn’t just a hotel — it’s a magical experience for all ages. Highly recommended for families looking for a memorable and high-quality getaway in Switzerland.

This would have been a 5 star review. Our stay was great, and our little one loved it. It's a really great place for kids and families. Sure, the wellness area for the parents could be better, but still, totally worth it, because our son had an absoute blast. On our last day however, I got severely ill, and in the morning of our departure I was quite sick. We managed to check out on time but then had to wait 40 minutes for the car to take us to the station. So I had to wait at the reception, going to the common bathroom at least twice and when I asked the lady at the reception for a glass of water, she told me, in a very unfriendly manner, that I would have to go the restaurant. All this while I was clearly very sick and weakened. A glass of water is not a lot to ask specially since you can drink tapwater in Switzerland. So once you check-out of this hotel, forget being treated with basic human decency. It's a shame because we would have returned, and recommended it to our friends and family.
