It is many years since we last visited Riijks, situated to the north of the quaint town of Tulbagh. The property has undergone major renovation recently and some planting is yet to be completed. Room 8 was a generous size beautifully appointed in light and airy colours with wooden floors, a thatched roof and modern fittings. Rooms should have kettles without having to ask for one! The staff all courteous and friendly. The recent renovation of the garden and the plant nursery is a good idea. Food choices acceptable and portions fine

Perfect land mark with beautiful mountains, nice and friendly workers with beautiful rooms very clean and neat with beautiful decorations to compliment the room, great food in overall it a perfect place to visit with friends and family for vacation

It has been my second time at RIJK'S! First of all: I like the wine - especially the Chenin Blanc. This time I decided to stay overnight. The wine yard is straight forward - no fancy stuff! This makes it sympathic. Kind staff in the restaurant and good food. The pool area makes it relaxing! The rooms are clean and good enough. It could have been a bit more comfortable seating on the terrace.

What a beautiful location, made even more special by the excellent accommodation and the fabulous staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes out of their way to help. The food is delicious and the accommodation spacious, gracious and elegant. Will definitely return.

All was well, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We are from Joburg and we were not sure if the location was safe since we passed the town before the actual venue. Even though we were rest assured that it is safe, but I guess is because of the high crime rate in our place that we are always vigilant.

Dreamlocation!! The best quality you can have for you'r money. The food is great, the locatie amezing en the wine absolutly superior Next visit in South - Africa we absolutly come back to Rijks Wine Estate & Hotel.

Staff were friendly staff and the room was nice , good food for dinner and breakfast. The eco-pool area was disappointing, as the water had lots of green algae floating and the loungers & parasols were all broken!

We kicked off our visit with a wine tasting followed by a swim in the eco pool and a walk around the grounds. This was followed by an excellent evening meal on the terrace overlooking the mountains and vines. Accommodation was very good with a nice seated area outside our room. Would highly recommend staying at Rijk’s if you are visiting Tulbagh or surrounding area.
