Great welcome and exceptional service, especially from James, always there with a warm smile and ice cold refreshments after our walks. Food was amazing, great menus with a good selection of local dishes, beautifully presented and delicious. Our room was extremely comfortable with lovely bathroom, toiletries and a good selection on the coffee tray, including a welcome shot of Muscadel, which was a thoughtful touch. The building itself is very charming with beautiful period furniture and tasteful decor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend Exelsior to anyone looking for a luxury stop in this beautiful wineland area. A big thank you to Kirstin and her team.

Oh what a wonderful experience! We had been recommended the place by distant friends and we were NOT disappointed. Everything was great - hospitality, accomodtion and food and Wine. Walking winetastig to neighbouring wineyards was well planned, although we had problems keeping the wines apart! You will have some wonderful and relaxing days - despite the walks - and most likely plan to come back again as we will.

What and excellent place to stay - we were given two beautiful rooms, travelling with my Aunty from Ireland, showing her with lovely bathrooms that were exceptionally clean and well equipped. From the wonderful warm welcome by James the butler to the exceptional service of the ladies at breakfast (sorry could not remember their names) - the breakfast was very plentiful and beautiful presented, served outside by pool overlooking the beautiful valley. I just sat sipping my tea and soaking in the wonderful fresh air and silence. Sadly we did not eat dinner there, our mistake, but will next time - and hopefully there will be a next time as felt so comfortable at Excelsior Manor. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Excelsior. It’s a very nice place. Staff is great, food is great, setting is great, wine walk is great. We like everything about Excelsior. Will definitely come back.

We have visited Excelsior many times and have always been so impressed at the warmth and hospitality. Excelsior has kept true to the tradition of farm style hospitality, while embracing modern lifestyle trends such as walking wine tour experiences. The manager, Kristin and the butler, James go above and beyond to attend to guests who come from far and wide as well repeat local visitors. The three course set dinner is always exceptional and Excelsior wine is included too. You cannot go wrong if you are looking for a really genuine South African vineyard experience!
