I really recommend this beautiful hotel located in the middle of the historical center of Cartagena. I loved the decoration, the beautiful courtyard with a lot of greenery, and how the old architecture and style is so well preserved. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I also liked the solution with food vouchers that could be used at the restaurant anytime during the day, rather than just for breakfast. This hotel was the perfect place to relax when we needed a break from the busy streets of Cartagena.

During my stay at the Hotel “El Arzobispado” the experience was very pleasant and welcoming. The customer service was first class, there were a few inconveniences during the stay, but nothing that Ismael the receptionist couldn't solve. His interaction was always key to turning every situation into a positive one. I want to mention all the staff who served me in the restaurant and the hotel grounds, since they made me feel at home. Many thanks to Eduardo Vergara, Yoleibis, John Martinez and Alexandra for their great service, kindness and passion for their work. I definitely recommend this hotel!

I liked this place very much but: Some of the common areas and also our bedroom will improve with a revamp and freshen up. Do not make me wrong: I like the history of the building and the period forniture but the lounge area could improve with some little touches…being a bit more interior decorated!!! Myself and other guests find the “free breakfast” or “breakfast included” concept of the hotel puzzling: offering 60,000 pesos of the cost of breakfast is not a free breakfast, full stop!!! But then: the reception area and the courtyard/pool are very charming and inviting; Giancarlos at reception couldn’t have been more helpful; the location is simply perfect…I will be going back in a heartbeat!!!

This hotel with wonderful old world charm provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle right in the center of the walled city of Cartagena. Concierge Christian took great care of us throughout our stay and I had a terrific birthday surprise at breakfast at very popular Epoca Cafe (hotel guests get daily credit there, which comes quite handy for delicious meals and/or drinks) - all in all a very memorable stay.

It is certainly a beautiful building in the heart of the old town which made walking around very enjoyable. The access to and daily credit for Epoca Cafe is a very nice perk. The hotel feels very secure and is a nice oasis from the busy-ness of the streets. However: The night we arrived, we were picked up by a driver our hotel arranged. We paid the driver and went into the hotel. The hotel staff member was very upset we paid the driver instead of the hotel (he had not told us to do so) and tried to make us pay again (we did not). When he finally showed us to our room, he informed us they provide two half-size water bottles per stay (not per night) and you would have to pay for additional. He left and I realized he hadn't provided the wifi password. I had to go back down to the desk to ask as it was nowhere in the room. When I got back to the room, my spouse informed me there was no water (sink or shower). I went down and the staff member seemed unsurprised but said to wait 10-15 minutes and the water would come back on. Waited 20 minutes and still no water. Went down and the staff member said the pump was broken and someone would come in the morning to fix it but there would be no water for the night. They never refused to discount or refund our stay despite having no water at all. Also, the entrance requires staff to buzz you in, which is great for security, but they were often not at the desk and you'd have to wait until someone happened by to let you in. When we were checking out, the staff member was incredibly rude, again refused to discount our night without water, and was excessively pushy about the pocket change we owed from spending over our credit at the cafe. Then he called a taxi nearby for us and the taxi to the airport cost 1/4 of what we were charged for pickup. No wonder they were upset we paid the driver. Despite the nice aspects of the hotel, I would NOT recommend staying here whatsoever.

Really charming hotel in a central location. Rooms were large and comfortable. There is a beautiful pool on the main level. The rooftop is small but has a nice view. The hotel has a small spa and we booked massage once we arrived. The hotels restaurant is very nice. We had dinner and breakfast there.

Casa del Arzobispado is a wonderful place with excellent location and personal attention by Sra. Lucía, its manager, who goes out of her way to make your stay pleasant. The staff is always ready to help in every detail, specially Daniel Ortega. He was most helpful in acquiring tickets for the Music Festival de la Naturaleza. I highly recommend this boutique hotel that also has excellent cuisine and spa.

Well located. Nice staff. Very comfy bed. Nice bathroom. Rooms on the ground floor lack of intimacy, and noisy. Nice breakfast, but slow service. Not really a boutique hotel
